as hinted in the weather prediction models over the last few days, looking increasingly likely that come Wednesday drier conditions will be upon us.
Warming up as well, so come National day Aintree could’ve had at least a couple of days of drying conditions.
Is it a quick drying course?
Those thinking of placing bets on soft/heavy performers may want to just wait and see.Apparently it’s a quick drying course, but it’s going to be taking a hell of a lot of rain before the drier weather, so i’m not discounting a soft National quite yet…
April 3, 2010 at 14:16 #287311Aintree is on sandy soil so it does dry out quicker than most courses.
Just in case it doesn’t I’m going to have a little bet on Dream Alliance @ 50-1
My best mate has just had a load of stem cells and I heard with interest that it has worked for Dream Alliance. My mate is going into a bubble for a few weeks with his mobile but he will need cheering up. Got any jokes?
April 3, 2010 at 14:22 #287314A man walks into a bar, and there’s a dog playing poker. The bloke goes up to the barman and says "That’s amazing! A dog playing poker." The barman replies "Not really, he wags his tail when he’s got a good hand."

April 3, 2010 at 19:43 #287356RP website reporting some jockey bookings – Jamie Codd for Character Building, Christian Williams for Ellerslie George, and Choc Thornton and Richard Johnson both without a ride, they say.
April 3, 2010 at 21:17 #287370Does nobody think that Cerium has a chance? He ran a great race last year and didn’t disgrace himself in the Gold Cup this year or last year. Has a good weight too. Cerium was a good horse when with Paul Nicholls until he burst a blood vessel and got the sack.
April 3, 2010 at 22:26 #287385Cerium was greatly flattered last year. Well behind at Becher’s Brook second time around. Only to be allowed back in to the race. Two front runners Black Appalachi and Silver Birch came down there and nobody wanted to go on. The time for between Bechers and the Melling Road was 5 seconds slower on the second circuit than the first.
That is why so many horses were in with a chance at the final fence. There’s also a possibility of some horses appearing to stay the trip last year. Where as another year they’d fail to get home.
Value Is EverythingApril 3, 2010 at 22:39 #287388I’ve got £30EW on Ollie Magern at 150s, £10EW on Arbor Supreme at 25s and that’s all I’m doing, bar a reverse forecast

Very interesting point, Ginge.
Hadn’t even considered that
April 3, 2010 at 23:09 #287398The same Cerium who was smashed in the head by another horses head, bled for most for the race cause of it and completed the track with a fractured skull.
April 4, 2010 at 18:29 #287530RP site now reporting that Character Building has been sold to the Thompsons – the owners of Cheveley Park. Jamie Codd now loses the ride as the new owners want a pro on top.
April 4, 2010 at 20:01 #287542I’m just reminding people that State Of Play was injured during the Hennessy. Not sure why people are so confident, and the price so short. I’m just bringing it up, because no one else seems to mention it, including the trainer.
Injury rules State Of Play out until spring
BY SAM LAWRIE
1:39PM 3 DEC 2009THE 2006 Hennessy Gold Cup winner State Of Play faces a spell on the sidelines after sustaining an injury when pulled-up behind Denman in this year’s race.
"We found a problem in his lumber region and he is very sore,"said trainer Evan Williams on Thursday.
"We’ve treated that but he will have to have a good break now and we won’t see him until the spring."He added: "We’re going to have to work away now and, hopefully, we can get him to the National."
April 4, 2010 at 22:37 #287573Shame about Jamie Codd cos he rode a great race on Character at Cheltenham two years ago!!
April 4, 2010 at 22:47 #287575Indeed Gerald, can’t have State of Play with stolen.
