Snowy Morning 33/1, Arbor Supreme 33/1, Hello Bud 50/1, SoP 25/1
That’ll do for me
March 28, 2010 at 09:26 #286073I always tell myself that i’m going to stick to my pre-race shortlist… but i can so see myself going for another 2 or 3 on the day itself; namely Maljimar, Snowy Morning and Cloudy Lane.
Right now my list is…
Black Apalachi
Ellerslie George
Hello Bud
Notre Pere
Preists Leap
Knowhere
Ollie Magern…Add another three on there and i’ll have a quarter of the field selected.
March 28, 2010 at 10:05 #286075Someone asked about Flintoff.
Wednesday 24th March 2010
Williams’ Flintoff is currently 49th on the list and the trainer is hoping he too makes the final line-up on April 10. "Flintoff has had a problem with his foot, but he’s in good form and is doing his work well. I hope he gets in," Williams added. "There’s no time for a prep run before the National for him now, but he was second in the Midlands Grand National last year first time out so we wouldn’t be worried about going to Aintree fresh."edit Mon Mome had either a foot or leg problem, didn’t he, so he did lots of swimmimg. Flintoff is probably doing the same thing. Just need another two for the medley relay.
March 28, 2010 at 10:09 #286076I’ve got £10EW on Arbor Supreme at 25s and I can’t see me building on that. Worried about McCoy taking the ride. Just seems too aggressive round Aintree.
March 28, 2010 at 10:22 #286079Yeah, these top jockeys like McCoy and Scudamore, who take the inside route at Bechers, and are surprised when they fall.
March 28, 2010 at 10:51 #286084They interviewed Freddie Flintoff on Ch 4 yesterday, and I was surprised when he said he was hoping that his horse would get a run and that he’d be on the first plane home if he did. Assumed the horse wasn’t running but, again I thought he had no chance of getting in at one time.
March 28, 2010 at 10:54 #286085Could sneak in to be fair.
No chance of winning though.March 28, 2010 at 11:36 #286090Excellent follow up Gerald thanks. I fancy him at a big price if he runs.
March 28, 2010 at 14:02 #286102I’ve had another one of my dreams, similar to that of James de Vassy in the Coral Cup (came 3rd) – I had s very strange dream that after 20 non runners, Irish Raptor came down from 40/1 to 3/1 favourite and beat a field of 7 with Brennan unseated at the first but then re-mounting to claim victory. Was extremely odd, but I will have to have 5 pound on it ew now just in case…
March 28, 2010 at 14:24 #286103Did he not get disqualified for remounting? I think the only way I’ll get the winner this year is if I dream it. Two weeks to go and still haven’t got a firm idea about who’s actually going to run, what top weight will be, why so many horses ran badly recently[eg Dream Alliance] and how much effect the compression of the handicap is going to have.
March 28, 2010 at 14:43 #286105I’ve got £10EW on Arbor Supreme at 25s and I can’t see me building on that. Worried about McCoy taking the ride. Just seems too aggressive round Aintree.
In all honesty I think you’ll be fine there. McCoy looks more likely to partner Can’t Buy Time or Don’t Push It.
Think you may get someone like Paul Townend on board.
March 28, 2010 at 15:27 #286106No he didn’t; in dreamworld, anything goes.. Was very bizarre and very vivid. Twisty is having a magnificent season and I think s victory in the GN would cap it all off, god knows which one would be his best chance though, maybe Razor?
March 28, 2010 at 15:33 #286107I actually had a National dream the other day (my Gold Cup dream was pretty accurate )
The ground was really heavy and there was about 6 fallers at the first (4 having been brought down including Cloudy Lane)
Black Apalachi fell towards the rear at the second or third and by the time they were at Foinavon for the first time there were only 8 left… including Maljimar.
The finish included horses that aren’t entered though, so needless to say i’m not beaming with confidence with this one.
March 28, 2010 at 15:38 #286108Well so far I am on
Arbor Supreme 25/1
Palypso de Creek 66/1
King Johns Castle 40/1
Maljimar 33/1
and I am sure I will be backing others too!!
Sorry to be a wet blanket or a killjoy but I cant have Hello Bud or Snowy Morning on my mind!! For various reasons there are a few others I cant have either but I shall probably get the spoon out to eat the humble pie with like I did with Quevega at Cheltenham!!
March 28, 2010 at 16:20 #286115i joined hte arbor supreme club and backed him antepost earlier last week, along with my earlier bets on state of play, and niche market in last year

March 28, 2010 at 18:00 #286119I’ve had a decent bet on The Package at 20s, Arbor Supreme at 25s, Comply or Die e/w at 25s, Irish Raptor e/w at 40s and a rank outsider e/w at 150s, namely Ollie Magern – don’t ask me why on the last named, i don’t know why either!
March 28, 2010 at 18:10 #286122Probably because he’s not a 150/1 shot. I couldn’t resist that price, either.
