Hey may as well go the whole way lol.
My opinion on the favourite is if it gets round the only thing that will stop it winning is its unproven stamina, I believe its the classiest horse in the field but at 3 and a 1/2 miles not over this trip. I don’t think it will get round either.
Its annoyed me immensely that the racing post has tipped up Comply Or Die as there goes any hope it will drift imo but as they say in the spotlight, its performance last time was good as anything we have seen and it proved its stamina for me, Pipey knows what hes doing and if it stays towards the front out of the way I’m hopeful.
Theres not much between Mr Pointment and Bewleys Berry with Mr Pointment giving it an extra 3lb for a 1 length beating last time but both seem to have lost their way a little. At the prices Mr Pointment seems like the better option therefore.
Hopefull the trip will bring out the best in Simon, and maybe one of the greys King Johns Castle will improve for the trip as well (bit doubtful it will stay i reckon but decent price and in good form.
Thus i reckon
1st Comply Or Die
2nd Simon
3rd Mr Pointment
4th King Johns CastleDon’t shoot me when they all fall <!– s:lol: –>

April 5, 2008 at 10:15 #156096As I put up Comply or Die when the weights came out I can’t leave him out, or my other ante post bet Naunton Brook (though the ground may be a bit too quick for him). I like Cloudy Lane, but think he might just lack a bit of experience in big field handicaps. Of the Irish horses I think King Johns Castle has a big chance. Carberry rides the course well as he showed again on Bothar Nar and he can hunt round for a long way. And for an absolute long shot I like Cornish Sett. He had some good handicap form the previous 2 seasons and though his results this year haven’t been great, he has come down the weights and think Nick Schofield could make the kind of fairytale story the race often throws up.
