It would be a lovely story with Kitty’s. The concern I’d have with him is when he racked up that incredible sequence last spring he’d dropped 12lbs in the handicap because they’d done a Skelton on him. That was never going to be an option for the National. He’s had a few goes in the Hennessy on his favoured ground granted they weren’t in the spring and he’s not been competitive in either of them or particularly fancied, including this season with his headgear on. I think those Hennessy runs off 147 and 149 illustrate the issue with him he might be better in the Spring but I don’t think he’s 150+ horse and he needs to be to win this off his mark. He can definitely run a big race though.
April 13, 2024 at 11:20 #1690177Meetingofthewaters for me. Ticks all the boxes.
April 13, 2024 at 12:00 #1690192I’ve been keen on both Corach Rambler and Meetingofthewaters for a very long time, so am already on and topped up this morning. However, the fact they’ve been so uneasy in the last few days is a little concerning. Particularly the latter. It seemed Mark Walsh was a certainty to ride Meetingofthewaters, then “chose” Limerick Lace. Ruby Walsh is attached to trainer Willie Mullins’ yard and tipped Meetingofthewaters ante-post, but is lukewarm on his chances on the Opening Show this morning… And Tony McCoy is employed by owner JP McManus and he seemed to tip every other horse bar Meetingofthewaters this morning. Both CR and MOTW had hard enough races on heavy ground (which can take longer to recover from) at Cheltenham. It’s possible neither is showing their usual sparkle coming into this race.
Value Is EverythingApril 13, 2024 at 12:28 #1690203Me and (by proxy) my wife are expecting our first child in June, and I have asked him for his selections through a serious of multiple choice questions using kicks as a response.
He prefers odd numbers, the bottom half of the handicap, and those who missed Cheltenham. So he likes Panda Boy and Mac Tottie. Could have a shrewd one on our hands
April 13, 2024 at 12:38 #1690207I hope you’ll buy him a cuddle panda if Panda Boy wins! Or ‘Tottie, the story of a dolls house’ if Mac Tottie wins….
April 13, 2024 at 13:14 #1690217Shrewed indeed peter, as panda boy will win if he gets round, congrats btw
Delta work an e/w price, havent heard elliott speak like this in a while, last time would be tigers 2nd xc at chelt

Eklat De Rire 100sApril 13, 2024 at 14:26 #1690239Well it’s finally here , I’m covered well ante post with Stattler , Falcon and Eldorada Allen , made no secret that u really like Stattler , that Nat hunt win is rock solid form , he thumped Vaniller , and this has been the plan for some time , Galvin is a classy horse if he jumps round then I reckon he hit the frame ,ditto Eldorado if he stays , he caught my eye on the Hennessy doing decent work at the end , I hope and think he will stay , I’ve only added one more today and that I am Maximus , rewatching the Cheltenham race I don’t think he was given a particularly hard race , good luck all
Stattler
Galvin type
Eldorado Allen
I am Maximus
Sorry I do have 33s ticket on Noble Yeats to but while I reckon he’ll run well I just can’t see him winning , all my bets e.w
April 13, 2024 at 14:41 #1690245Limerick Lace, Meetingofthewaters, Panda Boy for me.
April 13, 2024 at 14:52 #1690246After chewing over most of the field I’ve looped back to my thoughts on page 1 and gone with Adamantly Chosen. No guarantees he’ll stay but I like his breeding – there’s a bit of stamina here and there- he wasn’t stopping at Down Royal last time and coped with the ground OK. Jumps OK, settles, has placed in grade 1 novice chases.
He’s my main bet ew but I put 50p ew on Minella Crooner at 125s too – I backed him at much shorter before his last run and it’s a rubbish looking bet now, just a token anti-sickness bet in case he places at this price.
April 13, 2024 at 15:05 #1690250I wanted to find a way of justifying support for Eklat De Rire but failed. Shame, as a horse by Saddex out of Rochdale would suit me to a tee.I think Peter Davies might leave him him over here to see if Venetia can get something out of him in veterans races. (Idle speculation).
I’ve thrown a few coppers at Glengouly and Bartlett’s pair though even Willie doesn’t sound hopeful about Stattler.
Free bets on Corach Rambler,Vanillier and Galia des Liteaux
April 13, 2024 at 15:34 #1690259I’m on I Am Maximus at 20-1 and Mr Incredible at 14-1. Just had a quid each way on 3 outsiders (Foxy Jacks, Chemical Energy and Roi Mage) for a bit of fun.
Good luck to all. Fingers crossed all are safely home tonight.
April 13, 2024 at 15:39 #1690260Panda Boy and Glengouly win only.
The things I want most in life are the things that I can't win.
April 13, 2024 at 15:45 #1690264Slight adjustment to one of my picks. Vanillier 14-1 ew 6 places bog

As he looked so fit and rearing to go on The Opening Show this morning.
Kittys Light is the one I really want to win, like we were all willing on Cody’s wish at the Breeders Cup meeting. We are about due for another Fairytale win.
Good luck to all and bring them home safely. JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out... -
