Two for me here.
I took 50/1 on Croco Bay straight away. That’s still available in a place and could be the best value of the meeting. Ben Case’s stable star was third off 149 in 2015 and looked likely to come through for 2nd behind Fox Norton in a red hot handicap chase over course and distance at the start of the season. Two quick runs helped to lower his mark and he shaped well in his pre-Festival tune-up at Wincanton. Now down to 141, he must be bang there with a clear round. He has failed to complete twice at the track, but there’s more than enough juice in his price to take that into account.
The other one is Le Prezien. Paul Nicholls has a great record in this race so I’m inclined to forgive whatever happened to him at Sandown. He’ll like the ground and I think this is a fringe 160s horse running off 146. I can’t believe 10/1 is still on offer.
March 13, 2017 at 23:13 #1291749Rock The World was smashed into 9/2 last year and finished 3rd. 14/1 and up 1lb, remembering him getting hampered and Dandridge is up 6lbs I think so at 14/1 Rock The World each way for me.
March 14, 2017 at 00:45 #1291770Only just heard from Racing UK that Rock The World has had a wind op since his last run.
Hopefully that’s a positive.
March 16, 2017 at 20:38 #1292817Just had a look at the entries just now and noticed one that i have backed a couple of times this year right at the bottom.
Witness in Court E/W @ 50’s. He was running a very good race at Aintree this year and was jumping really well before UR. Normally a good jumper but always seems to fall at Aintree.
If he gets into the lead he might take some pegging back with another 5 lbs off his back.
March 16, 2017 at 23:10 #1292857The way this festival has gone,i wont have any money left to have a punt in the finale. But just incase i do,theirs 2 that interest me here. Davy Russell has been extremely bullish about Dandridge all week and Rock the World for the Harringtons. 2nd and 3rd in last years renewal. Dandridge ran a burster after an absolute howler at the 1st fence. Although up in the weights a few pound,Russells confidence will inspire me to have a punt. Rock the world came in for significant support late in the day last year. Made a bit of a horlicks of the water but made the frame. He’s gonna get the same conditions/rating as last year so is of obvious interest. I haven’t heard its had a wind op but if thats true, that can only be another positive.
March 16, 2017 at 23:48 #1292865I like this race and have backed the winner a few times in the last ten years including Solar impulse last year so that has probably stopped me backing the winner this year but got to go for it!!
My three are Velvet Maker who went off far too fast in the race last year and has had a solitary run this year and that was over hurdles.12/1
Solita who also looks like he has been targeted for this having ran over hurdles and then one chase to keep his handicap mark. 33/1
And finally Calipto who has good hurdle form and would probably have won Tiger Roll’s Triumph hurdle but for a stirrup breaking. Could be thrown in here off 139 25/1
Good Luck Guys
March 17, 2017 at 08:46 #1292957Oh I have backed another now!!
THEINVAL at 14/1 cos Bobby has backed it LOL
No seriously Nicky will be trying to win his dads race!!
March 17, 2017 at 17:27 #1293132Last round up guys !!
March 17, 2017 at 17:29 #1293133I went for Velvet Maker at 16/1. He went off too hard in this last year and hopefully will be given a chance to grab a place this time.
Le Prezien’s jumping didn’t convince me last time and is too short for me.
Theinval was one I considered last night at 14/1. I see money for Dodging Bullets, who is now 20 lbs below his peak rating but I can’t see it.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 17, 2017 at 17:34 #1293136Mine is pulling too hard. Goosed again,

March 17, 2017 at 18:22 #1293153Well done you rockers of the world! Nice way to finish
March 17, 2017 at 18:43 #1293165Should have been a better week but like most there were times I slipped and went off horses (like Defi Du Sieul and Sizing John).
So hard to stick to your guns when people in betting shops are in your ear and you have the couch giving his tips in Coral.
