If it’s fake Gordon needs to refute it quickly.

    What happened?

I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains
I've walked and I crawled on six crooked highways

I’m not linking directly to it but an image portraying GE sitting across a collapsed/deceased horse is going around.

Earlier in the week there was a video going around portraying him in a busy pub during lockdown along with whatsapp message allegations.

Somebody is going to a lot of effort to discredit him.

One twitter account in particular seem to have it in for him.

    Strongly suspect it’s fake.

    Hope so.

Following that twitter thread looking at the photo of the dead horse on the gallops
    – the trees behind are in full leaf, so not recent
    – you can’t really tell if it’s him or not as the resolution of the face isn’t great
    – the person on the horse appears to be clutching a rather brickish looking phone so possibly quite an old photo of whoever it is. In fact if you are going to climb on a dead horse to clown about for a photo, clamping a phone to your ear and doing the victory sign with the other hand is a bit odd so I’d say if that bit of the photo is him it was likely lifted from an old winner’s enclosure pic
    – there are strainer posts holding 2 strands of wire fencing the part of the gallop the horse is on. If I was spending half a million pounds a go on horses at the sales I think I’d buy the safe plastic rails for the whole thing.

So, quite likely not him, from the waist up anyway. Or his horse. Or his gallops.

The video of him drinking!! In a pub!! (or illegal shebeen according the self appointed police on twitter) looks like him but who knows when it was taken.

I don’t think this photograph was taken recently. The bloke on the picture would be a younger and slimmer version of Gordon.

Sadly, the horse looks like a well-trained individual that just died on the gallops…. I can imagine a lot of things, but not that a NH trainer would pose for such a thing.

But then again, who would post such an old photograph two weeks before Cheltenham? It’s fake anyway and it wouldn’t influence ante-post markets at all……

Oh, and it is clearly taken on his gallops. But, I hope this (the gallops) is everything it has to do with him.

His tweet, only 48 minutes old right at the moment could have been more convincing:

I’m aware of a photo in circulation on social media. The I.H.R.B. have been in contact with me regarding this photo and I will be cooperating fully with their investigation.

Haven’t seen this but is it possible he’s sitting on an injured horse to prevent it from getting up and running away? Which (if so) could be the correct thing to do. I’ve seen someone do this when a horse broke its leg badly.

Sorry Ginge, the horse is dead….. open mouth and eyes wide open. The bloke on the horse is showing the victory sign, while speaking on his mobile phone.

The bloke who posted this pic must be pretty good at photo shopping

Isn’t it possible the horse had only just died?

Of course, but sitting on it, smiling, showing the victory sign and so on is a rather unusual thing to do for a NH trainer. Don’t forget the text underneath it “New work rider this morning”….. Not something you want to see or read from a top NH trainer.

    Just google “Nick Scanlan twitter”……

His statement is worrying …he,s not denied it , I would have questioned why the horse has no saddle/girth etc on but the fact he,s not said it’s untrue/fake ….oh dear , if the photo is genuine then he,s going to be in trouble , someone has made a point of keeping this to post just before Cheltenham ….

Photograph was taken last June according to the publishing source. A deceased horse on his gallops wouldn’t be something new, as he’s had quite a few over the past years.

    Why isn’t he denying it?

Well, it’s Ireland, maybe nothing will happen in the end.

If it’s true they,ll have to be seen to do something , no doubt a big fine , someone’s out to get him but if you sit on dead horses giving it the big un then you,be only yourself to blame , would Mullins , Nicholls etc do such a thing

For the same reason that you do not wrestle with a pig.
