distintion ewJuly 30, 2008 at 23:42 #175448You rate Honolulu 9lbs better than Yeats for tomorrow.
Taking the 5lb pull tomorrow into account, that effectively means you consider Honolulu the better horse by 4lbs. Fair enough, at tomorrow’s prices Honolulu is a better bet than Yeats but I couldn’t rate any stayer better than Yeats.July 31, 2008 at 00:09 #175454You’d be worried about Seamus Heffernan’s stats in UK. 1 winner from 34 rides over last 5 years and hasn’t even ridden at Goodwood in that time.
I think Distinction is a good each-way shout
July 31, 2008 at 05:55 #175466Yeats to beat Honolulu for the forecast.
Aiden can do no wrong at the moment and both are going into the race after impressive wins at Royal Ascot.
Hardly an original selection, but worth a few quid.
July 31, 2008 at 09:15 #175484Bulwark e/w @ 66-1 generally. Ground may be a bit quick for him to get involved though, all depends on pace.
July 31, 2008 at 11:06 #175514but I couldn’t rate any stayer better than Yeats.
No even Septimus? He beat Geordieland by as far at Doncaster last year as what Yeats did in the Gold Cup but was conceding him 3 lb.

Yes DJ, but we all know by now how Geordieland needs riding, and he wasn’t ridden anything like he should have been in that particular race.
July 31, 2008 at 14:01 #175543Have had a nibble on Regal Flush with a bit of my Duke winnings.
16-1 is an ok ew price and he should stay 2m as he has won over 1m6f at Haydock last year when Sir Michael Stoute trained him.
July 31, 2008 at 14:13 #175545A O’ Brien 1-2 Yeats the No.1
July 31, 2008 at 15:40 #175555Why do the others even bother turning up?
The greatest stayer for generations. Good looking, consistent, enthusiastic, tough…and so on.
I hope we see him next year.
July 31, 2008 at 15:48 #175557Well I guess tenbob will be revising his ratings.
Yeats was the banker of the meeting for me and is the best stayer I have seen race.

revising more like tearing up and setting alight
July 31, 2008 at 20:03 #175590Excellent horse, not much more to say, an absolute star.
Fair play to Tungsten Strike to lead all the way and finish a galant second, big run there.
July 31, 2008 at 21:24 #175601Wonderful horse that Yeats. What presence he has! Superb call from Simon Holt as well, his pitch and delivery on these occasions are second to none. His call on the race today was right up there with his commentary on this years Queen Mother Champion Chase. Well done Sir!

Agree, the guy is top notch.
July 31, 2008 at 22:07 #175604Yeats is the most beautiful horse and it’s a joy to watch him racing, but I realized today that I don’t feel the same emotion that I used to feel seeing Persian Punch and Further Flight…I guess he just makes it look so easy….
August 1, 2008 at 12:25 #175652I was lucky to see Yeats when he was training for the Melbourne Cup. Such a striking individual – his coat singes off his body.
Too bad he is an out-and-out stayer. No toe for our silly handicap.
