Nearly £50,000 win prize money on offer at Hamilton this evening yet the racing public will only get to see one top jockey in action, P Robinson.

So Seb Sanders and Johnny Murtagh aren’t top jockeys? You’ve mentioned Robinson, and there’s Micky Fenton who has a Classic winner to his name.

Given that there is also racing at York, Newmarket and Newbury it doesn’t come as a surprise that the number of ‘top jockeys’ is limited. Look at it another way though, with a couple of Listed races on the card it’s a chance for some of the ‘lesser lights’ to show their talents.

    Rory,

According to the old cliche, the world divides into’ glass half full’ and ‘glass half empty’.

I think our new friend Tom is in a separate minority group that takes the view ‘glass, what glass’

Anyone know why the weight range for handicaps such as the big one at Hamilton tonight is as low as 9st 4lbs to 8st 4lbs, none of the top jockeys can do anywhere near 8st 4lbs, Ryan Moore was criticised for doing 2lbs ow in one of these last week but he had no option and it possibly cost him the race.
    Surely the weight range should be higher, 9st 10lbs to 8st 10lbs or 9st 7lbs to 8st 7lbs?

I saw an excellent variation on this a few years ago called "The Four Basic Personality Types" by Gary Larson which went as follows:

    1. Glass Half Full

    2. Glass Half Empty

    3. Half Full….no…Half Empty..no Half….what was the question?

    4. Hey! I ordered a cheeseburger!
