it was great to see him win his third world hurdle
March 13, 2008 at 15:40 #150585I’ve never before seen a horse where, when ridden along with 6 or 7 in front two out, you feel confident.
Fantastic.
March 13, 2008 at 15:46 #150587Inglis Drever is a prime example of what I was alluding to regarding the definition of class.
Never easy on the eye, doesn’t travel fluently, comes off the bridle during races, but he absolutely oozes "class"

March 13, 2008 at 16:00 #150593The best result of the festival. Fantastic to see him win again.
March 13, 2008 at 16:01 #150595With Kasbah Bliss, beaten a comfortable length, seemingly the only real challenger the obvious question now is why consider retiring him, whether it be this season or next?
For me today was his best effort to date; travelling far better than he has done in previous years and pulling away again late on to win fairly readily (for him).
Pure class.
March 13, 2008 at 16:36 #150601Fabulous horse and the exuberance of his lass was brilliant. Few come back as good after 12 months off through injury, but Drever is as tough as teak, love him.

Yeah she seemed a really nice girl she adores that horse and its great to see racing giving people so much pleasure.
Better than ever Inglis Drever who’d bet against him doing it again next year? Hard as nails.
March 13, 2008 at 16:39 #150603I hope they stand by what they said and retire him now; he’s probably quite difficult to keep sound, and we don’t want a One Man tragedy if he goes to Aintree; this has been the best and most emotional win of the festival, want it to stay that way. What a stars; the horse and his lass…

To be fair I couldn’t argue with you. If Inglis was retired now he wouldn’t owe anyone anything least of all the sport.
March 13, 2008 at 17:11 #150610The groom is fantastic – any yard would be proud to have her. What a horse. I remember grumbling loudly when they ran him in his first Stayers instead of the Champion – I’d lumped him to him for the latter race and I still haven’t got over it! I backed the second favourite today but still cheered him home – you knew he was a cert once he had a fight on his hands (hooves (c) Simon Holt)
March 13, 2008 at 17:12 #150611This horse, above any other, earns your respect. Proper champion.
I thought his main dangers were Kazal and Kasbah Bliss (I had a saver on the latter) so the finishing positions deflated me a bit!!!! Why I didn;t do some forecasts I have no idea!!!!
March 13, 2008 at 17:50 #150616Baracouda now Inglis Drever: a giant fills a giant’s shoes
Both are fully deserving of being mentioned in the same breath as Moscow Flyer, Kauto Star and… possibly… Denman
How fortunate we are to be witness to a new-millennial NH golden age which with the emergence of Master Minded shows no sign of losing its lustre.
Echo all the comments on ID: a great racehorse whose beguiling ‘kink’ makes his runs all the more entertaining
March 13, 2008 at 18:40 #150628What a fantastic horse and such a deserved win.
Quite a rarety in the fact that someone from the North East has got a hat trick
March 13, 2008 at 19:40 #150636Congrats to ID and his team – the most heart warming victory of the festival so far.
I wonder if they will retire him…

March 13, 2008 at 21:02 #150672Just got back from Cheltenham – HE DID IT!!
It took me approx. 60 seconds to lose my voice after screaming my favourite horse Inglis ‘odds against?’ Drever to victory.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – one of the best NH performers of the past 25 years.
I was waiting for ID when he left the racecourse. We were all cheering ID back to the winners enclosure, I could see him over the rails after he had interviewed Denis – it was Thommo!!
"He did it, he did it!!" I yelled
"Thommo (he turned around), he did it – three, Thommo, three!!" I said, three fingers waving around (kinda like an OK gesture)
He laughed and nodded "Yes…yes he did" he repliedPriceless.
I’ve got some great photos of today. How do I post them?
March 13, 2008 at 21:47 #150688March 13, 2008 at 22:15 #150702That’s a splendid pic of a joyful Denis and lass. And eye-to-eye with ID too!
I’ve saved it for posterity, infact I will make it my desktop
thanks Bosranic
