A seemingly important development for punters down under.
Bookmakers in Australia now required to "stand to lose a minimum amount on any single fixed odds bet on a thoroughbred race in NSW."

Will we ever see it here, in the land of thou shalt not win.
June 12, 2014 at 19:17 #482132I very much doubt it.
The Aussies will not put up for very long with things that are unfair. In comparison, the average UK punter is brainwashed from cradle to grave to accept whatever scraps he is given by private corporations and to be oh so grateful even for that. They whinge but they do absolutely nothing about it.
Apathetic and gutless.June 13, 2014 at 13:21 #482202True you have always had the rough end of the stick. Most British firms are buying up our online bookmaking companies, but win and ye shall have your account closed will never work here.Has been done but even the politicians here (like the world over bottom feeding opportunists) have been up in arms at this behaviour. All set for Royal Ascot fly at 6am in about 9 hours, 2 years since last there so interesting to see if the the bookies are fair or faint hearted.Obvious but the majority have to voice their disapproval at being treated like lemmings. The bookies that close the accounts of winners there are bottom feeding scum, even far below a politician, and that is saying something…
