Quote: from EC on 6:43 pm on Sep. 17, 2006[br]Unlike his last win when when he ran a very big speed figure..todays race was a real speed test which should in effect have suited HRE better..Teofilo only recorded a speed figure of 79 today against a 111 last time. Todays race was a real speed burn out.
This is quite an adaptable horse..can win off a slow or fast pace..impressive.
EC. What did you take as being the going?? Im not sure what the oficial going was since I havent looked but the guy there from RTE radio seemed to report it as dead or tacky.

September 17, 2006 at 18:29 #77295no ground excuses so.
I see Ad valorem is in tonight at woodbine and is disputing favourite at the moment. Looks a lay to me if I were one of the evil type who engage in that practice.

September 17, 2006 at 19:16 #77296Really taken by him today, a real beauty to look at. Never rated HRE as much of a future prospect but thought he would beat the Bolger horse at this stage of their respective careers but never could land a blow. For him to beat HRE at this stage and so impressively so no mean feat. The world is his oyster now, why HRE will do well to compete in the better races next year.
September 17, 2006 at 22:06 #77297As I’ve said earlier I’m convinced that Teofilo is the real deal. On pedigree he is bred to stay 12f, but he shows so much speed that I think shorter will be his optimum.
September 18, 2006 at 00:57 #77298I’ve not seen the National yet, so I cant comment on it.
Friendly Giant was absolutely awful – never landed a blow, and Fallon was hard at work about 5f out.
Didn’t see Brave Tin Soldier, but I read about him staying on – he wants 7f to a mile right now, so I’d be keen to oppose him in the Middle Park if Wi Dud or Conquest runs. Hamoody as well.
I saw Ivan Denisovic – needed him to win to break even, which I badly needed to do. He scared me quite a bit along the way, but stayed on nicely – 1m 2f is his trip i think, but certainly not at Group 1 or 2 level. Ballydoyle would be better off selling him tbh – he won’t make it as a Coolmore sire.
As for Godolphin buying Teofilo – I don’t think they will. Bolger will keep him. The 2 horses I really think they’ll buy for next year are Sander Camillo and Amadeus Wolf.

September 18, 2006 at 06:52 #77299I managed to win back everything I lost on my horse via a nice trixie with Teofilo, Ivan Denisovic and Il Pens.
Ivan was lucky but the other 2 won very easily. Teofilo at 14s still looks a good price for Derby.
September 18, 2006 at 06:55 #77300Oh re Godolphin. I was standing next to Dandy Nichols and Saeed prior to the Gold Cup and Dandy was looking to purchase a horse from Saeed. No names mentioned though….but he did say he was looking for a very good horse. Has Saeed got any of them?
September 18, 2006 at 07:41 #77301Bolger was interviewed on RTE and repeated the horse was not for sale despite massive offers already. He will stay with Bolger, would not surprise me if Coolmore eventually bought him for breeding purposes.

Absolutely no chance of them getting their hands on Sander Camillo. Ogden is hardly short of a few quid and will never have such a good chance of classic success.
September 18, 2006 at 08:52 #77303Was nicely impressed but isnt he a big b*****d
?Will he continue developing or will others catch up?
September 18, 2006 at 09:06 #77304Agree Ogden will not sell as ne does not need to, don’t know why they would buy Amadeus Wolf now a 3yo and hasn’t really built on his 2yo form.
Despite Bolger saying on TV he is not for sale I think if someone makes a big enough offer they will sell, Bolger is an Accountant by profession and I don’t think Colm O’Rourke would be a multi millionaire
September 18, 2006 at 09:31 #77305Clive, I agree, the horse is a monster!! HRE is well built but looked like a dwarf next to Teofilo!! 14’s for the Derby is huge in my opinion, looks to have plenty of scope still, HRE is more powerfully formed at the moment but can’t se him developing that much.. They could have gone another 5f and HRE would never have got there.. Fallon rode it like he was the best horse but never got near. I was very impressed..
September 18, 2006 at 12:09 #77306A good day i suppose only a 0.025 point loss for the back ballydoyle blindy brigade.
September 18, 2006 at 12:23 #77307Loads and loads of scope. Anything he did at 2 was always going to be a massive bonus. Look at how the Galileo’s are improving from 2 to 3.
September 20, 2006 at 18:18 #77308Teofilo sold but not to the boys in blue but the boys in dark blue
September 20, 2006 at 19:53 #77309If Coolmore do buy him (I suspect they certainly will do so for breeding purposes) he will stay with Jim Bolger.
September 20, 2006 at 20:30 #77310just thinking about the stud thing…
