I don’t think the home team has a hope in hell of beating hese two foreign flying machines.
Horse like Bushranger, King Aposotle and Ialysos can go a bit but these two are flying machines.
Sacred Kingdom said to be the worlds best sprinter? I wouldn’t say that but he is up there.
He likes to come of the pace and that could be his unding depending on how they group.
JJ the Jet plane can settle in front ad in the races I have watched he has looked like there is more in locker if required.
The fact Sacred Kindom lost his form for a while is a slight worry and I’m going to go for JJ the Jet Plane in the hope the final burst from SK isn’t quite what it use to be. I was just a bit disappoited in the time he too to cut back Rocket man ast timme and that swings me. I think he may get to JJ but he’ll find that little bit more than rocket man did and hold on.
Really hope it turns out a dual between the two great race to watch.
JJ the Jet Plane 3/1
June 20, 2009 at 13:01 #235429I’ll be backing Kingsgate Native each way. Must be in pretty good form or SMS wouldn’t have sent Main Aim to the Queen Anne.
12/1.
June 20, 2009 at 13:47 #235446Have back JJ to win today at 3.9, but have also backed Art Connoisseur to win at 34 & 8.6 for the place.
I know I’m backing him with my heart not my head after backing him in the Coventry last year but I keep trying to convince myself he has a chance.
His time in the Coventry over C & D last year was half a second of the winning time for this race and carrying less weight than he did then, back at the scene of his greatest tiumph, I’m hoping will see him return to his sparkling self. Michael Bell still seems to think he has the ability.
June 20, 2009 at 14:41 #235468If Art Connoisseur returns to his brilliant best, he’ll win.

If Art Connoisseur wins I’ll buy everone their own forum

The problems he has are threefold
1. He’s not back to his best 2yo form
2. His 2yo form wouldn’t be good enough to win this.
3. I haven’t backed him
June 20, 2009 at 15:17 #235482The fact Sacred Kindom lost his form for a while is a slight worry ….
Fist,
not so much a loss of form as a long hard fight back after sustaining a fetlock injury that put him out of action for the best part of a year.
every race since has been part of his retun to pre-injury level, and from that perspective he’s actually been on an upward trajectory.
i think he’s the only international G1 winner in the field, apart from Kingsgate in this race last year ?
essentially he is another very talented Aussie sprinter that has found himself in HK.
i suggest he would be much shorter in the betting but for his self-imposed quarantine and relatively diffident connections (though Brett Prebble is never diffident in doing his job).
best regards
wit
.
June 20, 2009 at 15:55 #235491In all brash honesty I cannot understand how J J The Jet Plane is rated on par with Sacred Kingdom – it’s crazy.
This is the best turf sprinter in the world.
I hear punters rating the South African higher because essentially, they’ve been able to see him at Windsor.
And if Sacred Kingdom had done the same trial win? He’d be a firm 6/4 favourite here.
I hope the bookies burn for this. Sacred Kingdom by a street is my tip.
June 20, 2009 at 16:43 #235498I’ve backed Ialysos and Lesson in Humility [because I was determined to back Karl Burkes horses this week but, betting aside I can’t wait for this race. Shame that Takeover Target isn’t in it as well but I’m just being greedy.

Kingsgate Native has apparently pleased Sir Michael a great deal in the last few weeks. He’ll do for me at around 12/1.
June 20, 2009 at 17:32 #235517At the present b/f odds of 1.87 to place, Sacred Kingdom is a steal. Group 1, Top OR at 120 or more and less than 4/1. Money for old rope?
June 20, 2009 at 18:26 #235529J J The Jet Plane for me. Hopefully to save my Ascot which has been horriffic up to now.
Come on J J lets fly lets fly away.
June 20, 2009 at 18:51 #235540Great call Gordon – awesome stuff
June 20, 2009 at 18:51 #235541One of the best 6f sprints of the year, with hopefully a world class field
contesting first prize! This year i am hoping the prize stays at home withArt Connoissor
not because he is 40 on the machine, although he
should never be that price anyway! I thought last year he was "visually"
the horse who showed the most explosive turn of foot and that was over
the same course as the Golden Jubilee itself, in the Coventry, had it been anywhere else you could argue about the possibiity of repeating such a
performance! What makes the result even more spectacular is that the 2nd and 3rd placed horses Intense focus and Lord Shanakil went on to
finish 1st and 2nd in the Group 1 Dewhurst! I know Arty had lost his way
after such an impressive start to his career, but he always looked physically as though a bit of time would do him good! Thats my opinion
anyway! "Opening Batsman TAPK has just hit a 6"!!Well done Gordon – there’ll be no shutting you up now!
June 20, 2009 at 18:52 #235542YEEEEEEEEEEEEHA!
We’ve done it again Gord
June 20, 2009 at 18:53 #235544Urgh I am absolutely gutted, on Cannonball at 50s and 33s. I wouldn’t care if J J the Jet Plane had won, but Art Connoisseur? Urgh. Must just be an Ascot specialist, no form in the book to suggest he could win this.
June 20, 2009 at 18:58 #235547He’s been shut up anyway, David.

It’s stunning to consider, that when a distinct majority is certain that Southern Hemisphere/Far East horses are the superior sprinters, the locals continue to win the Golden Jubilee.
My thoughts – the Ascot 6f is way too stiff for them and they never finish off.
This is by no means a guide to Sacred Kingdom or J J The Jet Plane’s truest abilities.
