Fastorslow isn’t a one trick pony
January 28, 2024 at 18:27 #1679002Royale Pagaille now listed as doubtful for the GC.

He’s actually quite sore, I’m afraid,” she said. “I don’t really know, but I think we’re going to struggle to get him ready for Cheltenham. We’ll know a bit more shortly and it’s not career-threatening, it’s just the timing.“I thought he was running very well. He was just outpaced turning for home, but he switched to the outside and was staying on very well. One can speculate what would have happened if he had kept his feet on landing after the last, but he was running a good race.
“It’s too early to tell and he’s at our vets, which he went to from the racecourse. We should know more towards the end of next week.”

January 28, 2024 at 21:21 #1679015Ff, they wont be riding him aggressively in the gc…..
And its not that fos is a one trick pony, its just that the gc/punche double catches almost all the GC winners out… theres no doubt that GDC is by a distance a superior horse, fos wont get near him in march
January 28, 2024 at 21:59 #1679016They are meeting at the DRF I think so that will give us some more clues.
January 29, 2024 at 10:51 #1679027VTC Coragh Rambler is 20/1 nrnb with bet365 . Have taken this e w
January 29, 2024 at 11:59 #1679028Thanks for the heads up Orchid. Not quite the 66’s and 100’s that he was when I first put him up mate, but managed to get 25’s NRNB there with Lads.
Think he’ll cone up short, but I also think that’s still a fair price
January 29, 2024 at 21:08 #1679074If hes superior Ham shouldn’t he have beaten him …
January 29, 2024 at 21:10 #1679076If GDC does try and make it a test then while he may beat the questionable stayers he could well set it up for another stayer , something last year’s race was prob missing
January 30, 2024 at 17:55 #1679113Took Nassalam to go with Corach Rambler. Won’t run in this unless it’s a big surely, and if it’s a bog, his price will come in. Makes sense (to me anyway) to bet him now.
I’d laid off Capodanno for The Gold Cup after The Savills, but still have a good chunk left on him. I’d love to see him supplemented, but got to be unlikely at this stage.
Like The Ryanair, I’ll probably add Jungle Boogie NRNB in next 48 hours
Corach Rambler 25’s NRNB
Nassalam 40’s NRNBJanuary 30, 2024 at 19:51 #1679120Though testing ground would help, do you think Nassalam is a Cheltenham horse, Bobby?
I’m a big fan of the horse, but his Prestbury Park record doesn’t exactly fill me with confidence, Gold Cup wise.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"January 30, 2024 at 20:29 #1679130It was actually a Cheltenham run where he first caught my eye, in the 2022 PP Gold Cup, but that was more from the ride he got. Don’t remember thinking it didn’t suit him, but happy to be proved wrong with that.
Got to be unlikely they run him here anyway, but after saying a few times he’d win a big handicap, and then managing to completely miss him twice this season, it would be nice to finally catch him. Called myself a few names after Welsh National
January 30, 2024 at 20:56 #1679132Fair enough, Bobby, and thanks for the reply.
I love the horse, been following him since he first came here from France – I just think a flat left-handed track suits him best, that’s all, but you couldn’t rule him out in anything anywhere if the ground is desperate.

January 31, 2024 at 10:14 #1679166If hes superior Ham shouldn’t he have beaten him …
HLDG…
FOS has won 4 of his 13 races- surely if he’s so good, he should’ve won them all? As he’s now seen as “superior”?
No, it’s not that simple as he’s progressed at a different stage of his career.
The same as the two times he’s beaten GDC, GDC has had his reasons.
Horses can have bad days HDLG, or not be at their “best”.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 31, 2024 at 12:26 #1679171Comeback run behind FOS was over a distance that is just to short now HDLG, in a small space of time hes went from a very quick horse over 2 1/2, to now looking like he needs 3m+, but at the same time looking in a different league at 3m
I dont think we’ll see him under 3m again anyway and like i said, i wouldnt be surprised should he win this, that FOS or something else beats him in april
at this distance, he has a stone on anything hes running against
But i wouldnt be against backing FOS e/w in this, paul did an unreal job at somehow keeping GDC away from all the trouble in this last year and youd imagine theyll ride him similarly, might not be as lucky 2nd time round off the pace to avoid all the danger, then again he could so easily just sit him 3rd
January 31, 2024 at 16:00 #1679176He will surely be ridden further forward this year ham
He jumped much better last time ridden near the pace
I expect to see him in the front third this year not the back third
They know he stays now so no need to ride him defensively
