    Bravemansgame

    – has never won beyond 3m and that was on a park course

    – has never won at Cheltenham

    – has never won after February

    – was reported in a stable tour feature to have a mystery weight loss issue come each spring

Even if he gets his preferred Good ground and thrives at the trip, he’s got a job on.

That Aintree turn of foot was not all it seemed due to a combination of the camera angle, the horse hanging badly left as he challenged, and the others slowing. Not after timing, as I mentioned this last week, I think. But he ran well yesterday and could benefit from a faster pace to keep him involved. I suspect that the outpaced period was more him spitting the dummy for a while. He’s definitely quirky.

Ian BMG won a 3 mile point , he wasn’t stopping in the KG after taking a wide passage throughout , as for the time of year I’ll email Nicholls and tell him to stick up a calender showing October in his stable lol , all I’ll say is yesterday’s race endorsed BMG timeline , Bob today proved how awful last year’s Turners form was

    So it is!

But, and do correct me if I’m wrong (I might be one day), October is NOT a spring month?

And that, sir, is my point!

I’m not having any of this doesn’t act well in the spring or round Cheltenham 5hite.

He’s clearly a horse who has simply come on a ton the last 12 months. Nicholls has said as much. He’s gone from a boy to a man.

He cruised round kempton at Xmas and quite frankly had the leading novice who’s jumping is usually excellent well out his comfort zone the whole race.

That king George form is head and shoulders above anything else that’s been seen this season. He’s trounced both L’homme and Ahoy fair and square now.

He’s a stonking each way bet. And I’ll admit to being unconvinced by him myself until this season but I’ve backed him win only this afternoon.

It is a pretty open race and fascinating tactically. Are Skelton and Bowen going to try and kick for home early? How close to the pace does Cobden want to be? Blackmore is probably versatile and comfortable with any sort of race unfolding. Is Nicholls going to leave the old boy in the race to try and play pacemaker?

Is Ahoy’s price probably still a bit disrespectful? He finished well yesterday and there’s no doubting his talent. Seems better with racing than he is fresh though.

God I love national hunt racing! :yahoo:

Chezza thinks he’s not a very exciting price for a still relatively inexperienced horse who fell on his last visit there, but Galopin Des Champs is looking a stronger favourite by the week as rivals disappear – L’Homme Presse, Protektorat, A Plus Tard in the autumn and Bravemansgame last April when he offered conclusive proof at Aintree that he suffers from anorexia nervosa in the spring.

“Does my bum look big in this?” he was heard to say in the paddock.

Ian I’ll give you 5/1 on the hobnobs against ginger biscuits for GDC!

I work in a factory that makes both so I’m feeling flush

    Often more like hell.

If you want to nip in and do my 12 hour night shift for me tomorrow you can help yourself to as many hobnobs as your arms can carry :good:

    TWELVE hour shift?

    That’s 12 hours in a month, right?

Chezza isn’t really into hard work, well any kind of work, really.

    But Chezza loves biscuits!

Surely eating biscuits is a form of work?

Anyway, rather boringly, Galopin Des Champs wins the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Only a right-back-to-his-best A Plus Tard could stop him.
