By popular request or by persuasion of a lynch mob :) I will put up here those of my selections I’ve backed at 10/1+, best odds guaranteed. They will be in Jumps races, almost exclusively those shown on RUK, and mainly from Sep to May as I’m using the summers to create what I hope will be the ultimate Grand National history website.
Stakes will be level: £10 Win; £10 E/W if 16/1+.
December 21, 2016 at 22:27 #1278056Is it harder to get 10/1 winners on ATR?
December 22, 2016 at 00:06 #1278065Probably. Reason being ATR has a much higher proportion of lower class British Jumps action and lower rated horses are generally the least reliable. Personally I dislike ATR live coverage and only use it to watch replays, mainly of Irish heats. In contrast I find RUK provides by far the best coverage by any broadcaster of any sport.
December 22, 2016 at 00:37 #1278068Good Luck GM
I will keep an eye to see how you do and I have been doing a similar thing for a year now so GOOD LUCKDecember 22, 2016 at 01:14 #1278071Well done for doing this, GM.
Pity you’re not putting up the shorter prices though, as your most outlandish claim was how the 10/1+ strike rate compared so well with the shorties. Had (over time) the SRs continued to compare as well as your claimed 2016 p/l, I’d have eaten my hat (see photo).Good Luck anyway, and nice to have you aboard DLAPs.

December 22, 2016 at 11:25 #1278103Thanks everyone. Remember 10/1+ wagers are only 10% of my total bets and I didn’t get round to Bangor today (spending too much time on here!) Boxing Day should produce some.
Surely Ginger there’s little point putting up the 90% at 9/1 & under when virtually all the profit comes at 10/1+? If this thread proves the SR/profit continues similarly to what the stats I put up say at 10/1+ then I assume the 9/1 & under SR will also behave similarly and there’s little profit there.
I just don’t think I have the time to put up everything and keep a running total of everything. If I did then shouldn’t I also distinguish between which selections are because they’re clear top rated on my figures and which are fancies chosen, because I can’t split 2 or more horses, for a secondary reason (one secondary reason being bigger price) and state what reason that is? I would have less time to study form.
What do people think, I was just trying to keep this simple?
December 22, 2016 at 11:33 #1278105Do what is best for you GM
If you bet online you could always screenshot your bet history of the days bets to save time
It depends if your selections are tips or just to prove/keep record of bets
if the former put them up if the latter a screenshot at the end of the dayBlackbeard to conquer the World

I was just making an observation more than anything else.
Yes, keep it simple.Value Is EverythingDecember 22, 2016 at 14:10 #1278128I wish you the best of luck with this GM.
I do something similar myself and do a bit more than quite well. A combination of my own ratings and a look at the live market and BINGO! There’s my bet(s).December 22, 2016 at 18:59 #1278153Probably. Reason being ATR has a much higher proportion of lower class British Jumps action and lower rated horses are generally the least reliable. If anything I prefer watching ATR but checking my stats for this year of 24 winners only 6 have been on ATR tracks. So on that small sample I couldn’t disagree although it could well be that my percentage number of bets at ATR tracks is much smaller.
Good luck.
