I’d already written my winners speach
The things I want most in life are the things that I can't win.
August 5, 2023 at 16:31 #1658736Shame for racegoers and connections..Charlie Johnston had a couple of good ones to run.
Also scuppered our competition for an exciting head bobber finish but understand horses and jockey safety must come first..JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...August 5, 2023 at 16:34 #1658739I have to agree with you Jac on all fronts. It was coming down the hill and round that bend that was going to be the problem so they had no choice really. It is a shame but hey ho onwards to York next competition and hopefully that one can be as close as this one was going to be.
Full results later folks
August 5, 2023 at 16:43 #1658740Thanks for running the Raymos.
August 5, 2023 at 16:47 #1658741Jac hits the spot again, safety of horses, and riders, must come first.

Well done to the Raymos for putting it on and the fast results. I’m quite new on here and it has been fun it adds to the racing itself. The things I want most in life are the things that I can't win.
August 5, 2023 at 17:13 #1658747Congratulations Rob – very consistent picking all week on what was a very tricky five days. Very well done! Well done also to MichaelWalsh and Catherine (Tonge) on getting into the top three. Again very consistent over the five days.
As for me…. if it wasn’t for Ancient Rome, I’d be in the bottom six
Thanks also to Raymo and Mrs. Raymo for running this competition for us – it’s very much appreciated.
August 5, 2023 at 17:14 #1658748First of all sorry folks but matters beyond our control (Weather) stops us having a nail biting finish.
Well done Illavim for scoring 69 pts with three races missing
Top spot goes to RobNorth TOP STUFF
And well done to MichaelWalsh and Tonge for getting on the podium.
A special mention for Euroalien on that massive first day score WOW!!
Thanks everyone for taking part and congrats to me for winning the cakes
Any problems with your scores let me know and I will check them.
Onwards and upwards to York next folks. Hope you enjoyed it even though our fun was curtailed somewhat
August 5, 2023 at 17:19 #1658751Thanks very much, it was a real nailbiter in the end and I relied on a second in the Stewards Cup to cling on! Of course I had three nailed on certs in the last three races…
Thanks to Family Raymo for their sterling efforts in running the competition. The lightning updating of results and progress reports takes some beating.
Hard luck to a whole host of competitors who were threatening my position when the meeting came to a premature close.
August 5, 2023 at 17:29 #1658754Er Raymo, you mean no cake for the winner???
August 5, 2023 at 17:39 #1658758Thanks for running the competition so well again, Mr&Mrs Raymo, it runs like a well oiled machine !
Well done Robnorth, and the super scorers with over 200 points
I’m relieved to have finally got a more respectable score today, plus some pennies back in the coffersAugust 5, 2023 at 17:48 #1658760Well done Robnorth, and big thanks to the Raymo’s for running this wonderful comp.
Looking forward to the next one..
August 5, 2023 at 18:04 #1658763Chuffed I finished 9th.
The things I want most in life are the things that I can't win.
August 5, 2023 at 19:21 #1658777Hotly contested but congratulations to ROBNORTH on a superb
score.Michael Walsh and Catherine (Tonge), so close guys and a great
effort to finish on the podiumEven with all the withdrawls, and eejits like me looking to
replace a horse during the competition, Mr & Mrs R you had
this running like clockwork. Many thanks, it was hugely enjoyableAugust 5, 2023 at 20:01 #1658789I think I scored 46 points today Raymo as HMS President was a non runner and my Reserve Sweet William 9/4 won.
I know it’s just housekeeping but it was my best score of the whole week and takes me over the 100.
Thanks Raymo…. JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out... -
