Not only that, there is contempt for the racegoer here> Goodwood is a course that naturally attracts those that have travelled from far and wide. It is entirely possible to get there just a little bit late. Thats not the end of the world when the first race is a sprint handicap or whatever…but the Sussex?
Amazing.
Has a Group 1 ever been scheduled as first race before?
As the Galway Plate isn’t run until 3.40 and the preceding races there are hardly top-notch I fail to see why it’s necessary to run the Sussex at 2.15.
And the same applies to the revamped Saturday card with not a lot from Galway and presumably a mundane Newmarket card as the away meeting on C4.
The probably want to get the racing out ofthe way to concentrate on the fashion.. Thats what racing is all about you know :angry:

The good news is that the website entries have been changed and the Sussex Stakes is now 3rd race on the card on Wednesday – Stewards Cup is 4th race on Saturday.
