September 16, 2016 at 11:53 #1263711Thanks nwalton, must admit when I started working Newbury out/putting up bets last night I did not expect it to be any worse than good-soft. Was going to Newbury today, but the vastly different going means am having to look at everything again. Am pleased Certificate is a non-runner. Acclaim acts on heavy but I see the obvious front runner Code Red has come out. Hopefully that won’t derail a come from the back horse like Acclaim.

29 points @ 8/1 (B365) Galactic Prince* (min 7/1)Both Richard Hannon and Brian Meehan aren’t in good form at the moment and although they still have the best two chances in this – fitness is oing to play a big part on heavy – want to oppose them at these prices.
Galactic Prince’s form in his maiden does not look up to this, but was thought enough of to run in the Acomb. Went too fast too soon there and probably did not act on the firmer surface. Might get a soft lead here.
Temple Church needs to improve too, Raheen House finished in front of him in the maiden at Newbury, but Hughie Morrison’s rarely do as well as 3rd first time up and usually improve a good deal for the run.Value Is EverythingSeptember 16, 2016 at 12:14 #12637144:25 Newbury

Value Is EverythingSeptember 16, 2016 at 16:46 #1263746Who Dares Wins – didn’t – despite shortening up to favourite.
However, Temple Church worshipped the ground, came on just as expected and Aclaim showed I wasn’t wrong in holding him in the order. If only I did the forecast. Missed going to Newbury today, but it paid off.I did my own personal Aclaim bet on betfair, if anyone knows the R4 please let me know – for thread p/l.
Value Is EverythingSeptember 16, 2016 at 17:58 #1263753Very well done on your 2 winners. The rain put me off today so I took the day off.
If you go to back a certainty always buy a return ticket.
September 16, 2016 at 18:26 #1263758Did reduce stakes and tbh anywhere else but Newbury and may not have bothered CJ, it’s usually the best way. But when going through the form I really wanted to be against a few early market favourites – Cymro, Contrast and So beloved. Really wish I’d laid them too but can always think it could’ve been better, satisfied with results.
My local trainer is Richard Hannon… If I go 100 yrds up the road – past the cottage where David Elsworth lived as a kid – can take a track straight to his door… He’s in such poor form at the moment – got to take on Legendary Lunch in the Mill Reef too.

33 points @ 13/2 (B365) Harry Angel* (min 6/1)Value Is EverythingSeptember 16, 2016 at 18:58 #1263764GT don’t know what the bookmakers rule4 was but the reduction factors on Betfair added up to 63.8% which meant that at your suggested 10/1 min 8/1 that the recommended odds were 4.62 min 3.90 ( Eg 100% – 63.8% x 10.00 +1 = 4.62 ) if that makes sense. I always re-calculate the new odds of your selections after a non-runner by using the reduction factors from Betfair.
Well done today two good winners and a £102 trifecta for anyone lucky enough to bet on that
