Keep the faith Ginge., to me that run was a fair bit better than the result might suggest.
August 17, 2016 at 20:40 #1260179Agreed Softie. If it wasn’t for a toss of a coin as to which race he’ll end up in, I’d back him ante-post for Champions Day. I’d favour the mile on an easy surface. Even possible he’ll end up Champion Miler!

Lustrous coming out hasn’t helped here. Appears only one front runner in the field now, and with Frankie on board can see him dictating a slow pace. Trouble is To Eternity is no value now so I’ll have to take a chance. Dear old Ted had Abingdon too far off a slow pace last time, hopefully Atzeni won’t do a “Durcan”. Abingdon’s forte is stamina. Tiptree also a hold up horse, also in that field at Newmarket. Both selections doing better than distances suggest behind Yorkshire Oaks runner Fireglow. Cumani is in much better form now and Tiptree could improve further. Fingers crossed they go a reasonable pace.
Value Is EverythingAugust 18, 2016 at 12:51 #1260276Won’t be getting ivolved in the Lowther, just be cheering on our 1000 Guineas bet Fair Eva.
Quite like to see her struggle a bit today, don’t want to see too much speed. Stamina could be her downfall next May.Value Is EverythingAugust 18, 2016 at 14:07 #12602873:40 York
38 points each way @ 7/1 (L) Queens Trust* (min 11/2)14 points each way @ 16/1 (B365) Koora* (min 12/1
Koora‘s walk in the market disconcerting, now 33/1 on betfair. Looked back to see why. She has form on good-firm, but firm going may be against it. Going yesterday verging on firm judging by some times and Koora might end up a non-runner. That said, worth taking a chance.
Queen’s Trust has shortened though still imo value. Best run last time in the Nassau, who here is able to get within 1 1/4 lengths of Minding? And this trip should bring out even more improvement, goes on the ground and stable in cracking form.
Connections of Found warned she is not fully fit. They’ve put in three stable mates which seem to back that up. Has some form to warrent being 6/4 if all were well. On course betting will be interesting. Nothing wrong with Seventh Heaven‘s Irish Oaks form, improving and should like the ground; just too short.
What was wrong with Even Song in the Irish Oaks? Harlequeen was placed there and Epsom, but disappointed slightly last time; not showing her usual enthusiasm. This could prove too firm for her too.
As a filly, I like Endless Time, but this is a lot different to the ground at Haydock, ditto for placed Furia Cruzada and Loving Things (latter not good enough anyway).
Fireglow had the advantage of having more speed than rivals in a slowly run 1m4f last time and could prove flattered by that. If this is a truly run race can’t see her figuring. Stable not quite in the same form either.
Stable of Turret Rocks is now in much better form, but is she really good enough and will she stay?
Pretty Perfect may well be in here as Coolmore pacemaker, may (as a lot of them do) go off at a suicidal pace. If she doesn’t… is inconsistent but has a squeak on form at a massive price. Albeit ground again a possible negative.Value Is EverythingAugust 18, 2016 at 16:37 #1260319Fair Eva disappointed but we live to fight another day with her.
Broke even on the Oaks and Abingdon was a good win.
Will do an update after the Yorkshire Festival.Value Is EverythingAugust 18, 2016 at 18:02 #12603242:30 York
