Hi GT, does your min 9/2 about Don Poli still stand or have recent events changed your tissue? Thanks

It has changed Mtoto.
Because of the King George I’d now say Don Poli’s minimum bet would be 11/2.
Am obviously glad I’ve got 10/1 about something that’s now top price 11/2. But if betting right now from scratch – considering all the prices I’d turn it around. Back the other two as main bets with a saver on Don Poli. Something like:44 @ 7/1 Cue Card
52 @ 8/1 Don Cossack
saver:
18 @ 11/2 Don PoliValue Is EverythingDecember 27, 2015 at 09:30 #1227358That’s great thanks
December 27, 2015 at 09:38 #1227359Got company coming, so that’s the only bet (race of the day) today.

40 points @ 11/2 (PP) Sea Wall* (min 5/1)
60 points @ 5/2 (WH) Violet Dancer* (min 9/4)Thought I was going to oppose Violet Dancer with Balgarry in the field (both front-runners who can pull if not getting their own way). But – unlike any of the other trainers in this field – Garry Moore is in good form; so VD worth having. Like a lot from the Chris Gordon stable, Sea Wall seems under-rated and has his going. Stilletto is interesting, could settle better with a likely fast pace; but – for once – Nicholls is not in good form. Neither is Vaughan (Honey Pound).

Value Is EverythingDecember 29, 2015 at 21:03 #1227611Bets in three races today, three winners – well, realistically one win and two draws (two savers and one main bet).
Feel a bit tired after a day at Newbury. Hopefully be able to do a Race of The Day a bit later – for Haydock tomorrow.

45 points @ 7/2 (B365) Rigadin De Beauchene* (min 100/30)
35 points @ 4.9/1 (betfair) Kingswell Theatre* (min 9/2)(£12 available @ 5/1, 25 available @ 4.9/1)saver:
22 points @ 3.9/1 (betfair) Cyclops (min 7/2)(£8 available @ 4/1, £29 available @ 3.9/1)With market confidence in the chances of Kingswell Theatre and (to a certain degree) Cyclops too; and I personally haven’t much confidence in two others who’ve been backed (Restless Harry and Listen Boy) – the “minimum price” of Rigadin De Beauchene can be extended to 11/4.
Rigadin is suited by a severe test of stamina and this is a greater test than he’s been facing so far this season. Been coming down the handicap and very well-in on form of some similar races. Added to that, unless Kingswell Theatre goes on (unlikely, going up in trip) Rigadin may well get a soft lead in front which (again) suits him iseally.
Kingswell Theatre and Cyclops are similar types; improving three mile chasers who act on heavy ground but are yet to prove themselves at this trip.
Restless Harry is on the face of it an interesting particepent. Always thought he’d be suited by an extreme test, but disappointed last time when well backed at Sandown. Stable in better form now. Lazy xxxxxx who’ll come good at some stage, though too inconsistent to trust.
Remember backing the other Harry (The Viking) for the four miler at Cheltenham, while in the care of Paul Nicholls. Extreme tests suit him well. Current trainer Sandy Thomson is going well at the moment and has got some reasonable runs out of the horse. Just doesn’t win. One to back for a place may be, not win.
Listen Boy has been running at 2 1/2 to 3m, not one I’d be interested in this.
William Money seems to have lost enthusiasm for the game.
Voyage A New York has been pulled up on his last two and connections are trying something different.
