Value Is EverythingOctober 22, 2015 at 20:09 #1218489Mark regards Gleaneagles and the breeders cup.
His coat was very dull at Ascot and I heard people saying he had gone in it. How quickly and frequently can a horse change a coat? Thanks for bringing this to my attention Nathan.
To my knowledge – once a horse loses its summer coat (gets a winter coat) then it won’t get another summer coat until Spring – unless it spends a long time in a warmer country. Gleneagles won’t spend enough time in the States for it to come back by the Breeders Cup. I’ve heard it said coat is the first thing to go (ie before losing form). So some will run well, some won’t. Fact Gleneagles has apparently lost his coat already is disconcerting. Could see him disappointing in work and not running. imo One of the reasons why French trainers have (over the years) generally done better at the Breeders Cup is this very issue. Probably won’t bet until nearer off time – NRNB – if at allValue Is EverythingOctober 22, 2015 at 20:41 #12184963:35 Newbury

Equister now a non-runner, means it may not be a truly run sprint so:
