Surprising that Coolmore didn’t bid but perhaps they thought that people might get take advantage if they’d got involved.
Anyone who is interested in having a look at her can do so by accessing teh Racing POst and looking at their ‘TV’ bit. Some really good stuff on there and a wee piece on the GW filly plus Tattersalls sales in general.
The filly looks very nice and is very similar to her father in physical appearance. She doesn’t look a nutter either so perhaps that is a male line trait.
It’ll be fascinating to see how she gets on when she reaches the racecourse and then when she goes to stud.

They have a nice little feature on their website.
George Washington is featured on the one-dollar bill, so
Million Dollar Baby
could also be appropriate.
July 7, 2010 at 21:08 #15591George Washington’s daughter makes her racecourse bow on Friday evening at Newbury with Richard Hughes on board. Looking forward to seeing her run, she has certainly inherited her fathers good looks. Lets hope she’s a good ‘un. <!– s8) –><!– s8) –>
July 7, 2010 at 23:00 #305346And if I’ve got the right horse, Hannon Jnr wouldn’t hear of defeat when discussing this very topic earlier in the week on ATR.
I see the Hannons introduced another nice sort this evening at Kempton. Different gravy is how I’d describe their two-year-olds. Can’t wait to see DWD in action on Friday.

Someone get to Newbury and get some TRF exclusive paddock pictures!
July 8, 2010 at 09:34 #305389You could ask Paul Nicely and we might just get some pictures

July 9, 2010 at 17:27 #3056899/2, touched 6.8 on Betfair
Hannon said it wouldn’t get beat earlier in the week – or words to that affect. Did I have a penny on? NO

And home she sails.
Fairly easy in the market suggesting the run was needed. Not a whole lot there when Hughes pushed the button but she looked fairly clueless with her head carriage. Ears pricked so she has more to give when she works out how to be a racehorse.
I matched 6.8 not sure how big the price got.
July 9, 2010 at 17:53 #305695Think 6.8 was the biggest she got prior to the race Chis, not bad for a horse that was best price 6/4 around lunch time
July 9, 2010 at 19:02 #305699Never had a penny on, but I am so happy. Didn’t want to jinx her though.
R.I.P. GeorgeJuly 9, 2010 at 20:18 #305709I think this result has everyone smiling. I know I’ve got a very broad grin. Hope she can go on for George.
July 11, 2010 at 12:57 #305949In morning of the race I was amazed at DWD’s price of 6/4. With Pencarrow and Zanazzi’s Timeform rating very close to the average race winner, both with "p"s for improvement. I took morning prices of 5/1 Pencarrow and Zanazzi 9/2. Never was a great fan of George Washington, temperamental, and thought owners were foolish to pay such an exorbitant sum for this filly. However….
Pencarrow’s coat was poor for a Godolphin horse, surprised at her exceedingly short SP and Mortitia (another fancied horse)’s coat looked worse.
Date With Destiny looked in excellant shape in the paddock for a newcomer, image of her sire. Big backside, sizable. One of, if not the best looking 2 year old filly I’ve seen so far this season. Though very green, looking around a lot in the pre-parade, then when entering the main paddock spooked (probably at the typical "ladies day" non-stop public address). Took her a while to calm down but never sweated up so didn’t upset her too much.
6/4 was rediculous, but saw some 5/1 on course, which looked a fair price. Unfortunately I did not put a saver on him.
In the race itself she ran very green, missing the break. Travelled really well (despite greeness). Did not know what to do when leading and a bit uncoordinated, idling. Much better than distances suggest.
There’s a chance part of what looks like greeness is temperament; thinking of how she resembles her sire.
Make no mistake, this is a very good filly with classic potential.
