Personally I don’t think taking Bookie’s prices for this race makes any sense – wait for the US Tote return.
Think about it from the US punters view – here is this horse sent over by AOB (who has only ever won one dirt race in the US versus many attempts – a 2yo race at that), by the same sire (who has never sired dirt G1 horse) as stablemate Dylan Thomas (G1/Derby winner who turned in a truly miserable performance on dirt), who has only won 2 of 4 races this year, who has never ran further than a mile and who has never raced left handed.
Taking 8/1 ante-post rules? You would want your head examined…
November 4, 2006 at 19:31 #396It all depends on how he breaks in my opinion. If he misses the break I don’t thik he’ll accept the kickback. However if he breaks on terms I’m perhaps naively thinking he’s the best horse in the field and will win. I think he had a LOT in hand of Araffa last time (be interesting to see how he gets on in the Mile) and he should stay the distance. In fact I’ve talked myself into a bet on the PMU.
November 4, 2006 at 19:33 #30089Not with stolen money…
November 4, 2006 at 19:48 #30090Always thought tight bends and maybe the whole scenario was enough for him to overcome without going for new surface and distance
If hes beaten badly…willbe a sad thing to see
November 4, 2006 at 20:59 #30091I hope he wins but I suspect he may be given a conservative ride by Kinane as his safety must be paramount. I reckon Coolmore would be content to settle for  some kind of moral victory with him running on strongly at the end placed or unplaced.
I thought Jamie Spencer gave Aussie Rules an excellent  ride from a poor draw. If his ride on David Juior is as good, he may go close.
November 4, 2006 at 21:13 #30092Jamie Spencer didnt ride Aussie Rules….
November 4, 2006 at 21:18 #30093Stand corrected, Aidan :( <br>
November 4, 2006 at 21:24 #30094place lay
November 4, 2006 at 21:25 #30095No worries Zil, he did give him a good ride mainly due to the fact he broke so well. Take note George!!
November 4, 2006 at 21:26 #30096Given that George Washington would have cruised home in the mile, I do hope the decision to take in the Classic pays off (to an appreciable degree) for O’Brien.
However, Bernardini has looked nothing short of exceptional to date and it’s hard to envisage him being turned over. If there is a horse capable of doing so, my wallet hopes it is David Junior.
November 4, 2006 at 21:26 #30097Just get him on the rail, easy money. The dirt track is a joke there tonight.

November 4, 2006 at 21:56 #30098Got a feeling he’ll win, not a fan though.
November 4, 2006 at 21:58 #30099Really hope you feeling is right but he would be doing amazingly well to get a place!
November 4, 2006 at 22:05 #30100George is being backed off the boards over here, now 4/1. Bernadini out to a very backable 5/4.
November 4, 2006 at 22:09 #30101They are backing the name, I think.
November 4, 2006 at 22:14 #30102And I backed it at SP :(
November 4, 2006 at 22:15 #30103Just show a clip of him cantering on the dirt….thought he moved terrible….all too new to him. I fear the worst.
