No doubt he’ll be given a good break, and let’s hope he come back fresh as paint next year as a result.
There is absolutely no chance of him going jumping.
October 9, 2007 at 17:35 #118741Amazing…………..Not won for 2.5 years, bridal horse who never finds anything and you want to see him over hurdles,if you can`t kid them on the flat its`s unlikely to work over the sticks!!
With regards to yesterday, i laid him to decent money so i was obviously happy with the result, however,i was surprised to see JS furrow a solo , still, i think he would have trouble picking up a pit pony!!
Has the saying goes “the dogs are barking this one on the gallops, i guess he barks with them!!
October 9, 2007 at 20:22 #118762maybe im a tad naive but what else you gonna do with him?? is it not worth a try?
is it because they dont want him to get injured? he’s just not bred for it?
October 9, 2007 at 20:55 #118771Well matthew, he’s won more than 300 grand on the flat, so can’t be doing all that bad. He’d have to be a champion to win that over jumps.
May 14, 2008 at 12:10 #7798Does anyone know what has happened to this horse? ? ?
Haven’t heard anything since that dis-appointing race last year when beaten when he went off 1/4 favourite.
Thanks.
Gareth.
May 14, 2008 at 12:19 #163399Runs Friday in the Yorkshire Cup.
May 14, 2008 at 12:19 #163400Entered in the Yorkshire Cup’s O/N decs. Looks like another season of cruising upsides and finding nothing from him.
Personally I’d love to see him jump a hurdle, but not to be for the time being.May 14, 2008 at 12:37 #163405hasn’t he burst blood vessels in the past; I’m sure they keep him fully turned out because of it.
May 14, 2008 at 12:59 #163408Yep, I saw on a short on ATR he lives in a field
May 14, 2008 at 13:17 #163409Thanks guys.
I read somewhere that after his last race, when was asked to quicken, he looked very nervous in the un-saddling enclosure.
May 14, 2008 at 13:29 #163411Thanks guys.

I think i’d be nervous about him quickening in the unsaddling enclosure!!!!!

May 14, 2008 at 21:45 #163514It is a great pity Anthony Bromley failed to spot him while he was trained in France as a youngster. Its a sort of horse I like to see go hurdling under the Paul Nicholls/Clive Smith banner. I am sure he will make a good staying hurdler running in the world hurdle. I can only dream for now,
May 15, 2008 at 19:19 #163737I always wonder with horses like him (Harchibald maybe another) whether something is hurting them when they have to come under pressure, of if a memory of being hurt when put under pressure when young is bugging them. Often these horses get slagged off by punters, but I feel sorry for the horses as something cannot be quite right.
Wondered this myself Princess, or even are some horses who find little off the bridle actually the most genuine horses around? Already doing their very best before they are whipped.
Doubt whether it applys to Geordieland though
Ginge
Value Is EverythingMay 15, 2008 at 19:24 #163738wasn’t he bought with a view to winning the Melbourne Cup?
May 16, 2008 at 13:47 #163899That was a great ride.
May 16, 2008 at 13:48 #163900Nice to see him getting a win up, brilliant finish by the front two there
