7 Footy Facts(144) (RTyner) – PTEnright . 11,03
8 Johnnie Dillinger(114) (MFMorris) – NPMadden 11,03Fascinating little race this. It should provide the answer to whether we have any genuine contenders for the Stayers Hurdle here in Ireland. Kazal ran a blinder at Cheltenham behind Inglis Drever last year but he’s been disappointing this year. The jockey booking is interesting though and AP should get the best out of him. Whatuthink is a useful enough animal and he wasn’t disgraced in the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury where the stop-start pace wouldn’t have suited him. The horse I like though is Shakervilz. I’ve been very taken with his two starts this season. He’s only a six year old and he really looks to be going the right way. He’s available at 40/1 for Cheltenham with VC bet and in an open enough looking year in the stayers division, I think he could represent excellent value.

January 22, 2009 at 02:49 #205669Shakervilz has got to be the one here. I agree though, AP is the best jockey booking possible for Kazal here.
If Kazal goes any bigger than the current 4/1 tomorrow I’ll back him. If not, I may give this one a miss as 6/4 for Shakervilz (and probably shorter tomorrow) isn’t a price for me on this occasion.
January 22, 2009 at 18:47 #205786Good call Bulwark. Really advertises the Pandorama and Mikael D’Haguneut form. Disappointed with Shakervilz. Travelled nicely but he was treading water when he made his mistake at the second last. Might improve on better ground.
January 22, 2009 at 18:53 #205791Alpha Ridge was the only one who I really thought was wanting a lung busting slog in heavy ground. Very good ride by Davy Russell. Hate watching those races when yours is stuck at the front, but its great when you start to see that they arent stopping

Good call, Bulwark.
January 22, 2009 at 22:57 #205859I think it has more to do with form coming into the race, as opposed to form likely to be shown in the race. It wouldnt be worth writing off the beaten horses today just yet.
January 23, 2009 at 01:37 #205905Just watched the race. The form of the race is likely to work out questionable at best.
