I’ll beat Happy Jack and Adrian to it here – Quality First and Hot Plunge have to go down as the two most prize pigs in a point-to-point arena not short of them.
You may have seen the former revert to sulk mode at Folkestone on Thursday evening having been deprived of an early lead, and his form figures in points of 1P1P prior to that say pretty much the lot about his dual personality.
At least he generally consents to start – Hot Plunge planted himself twice at Higham this season having both set off and run perfectly acceptably previously. A horse who has variously refused, gone off like stink and departed through the wing of a fence in his long hunter chase career (as well as winning several), I’ll go potty before I successfully second-guess the appalling rogue.
