Am I alone in sensing potential Civil War breaking out in the world of racing because the “ancien regime” refuses to accept a ruling that did not go in their favour?

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"December 15, 2021 at 15:52 #1572678Doubt it ID. I was hoping for a similar watershed transparency change after the Elliott / Panorama affairs, but the “closed shop / omerta / mind your own effing business” attitude of Racing is far too ingrained / inbred.
The Sport will be far lower in the gutter and these blinkered imbeciles will still think they have it right, and the rest of world are wrong. The reanimated corpses of Mick Fitzgerald and Tom Scudamore will be front and centre, still ‘closing ranks’, when the remnants of the sport is being flushed down the drain in 50 years.

December 15, 2021 at 18:18 #1572702A depressing prophecy, TTC, but also a plausible one.

December 16, 2021 at 14:51 #1572835“Lacey has never previously used Frost, but Dunne has ridden for him 121 times. So he phones up and offers a ride on a chaser with a record that reads PU, last of 4, PU, PU, PU from it’s last five runs spread over two years. And he’s surprised when the offer is declined.”
It never travelled a yard, jumped hesitantly, looked as happy to be there as Robbie Dunne at a disciplinary hearing and only just managed to beat one of the other finishers home, 30l adrift of the winner. I bet Bryony’s devastated she missed that plum. The trainer is probably still in a snit that she wasn’t rushing to accept his largesse
December 16, 2021 at 17:06 #1572844Always anticipated getting back to “investing” on the horses by now – after my move – but just haven’t got any enthusiasm for Racing after its annus horribillis. This just the latest incident.
Value Is EverythingDecember 16, 2021 at 17:57 #1572849It certainly looks still that the dinosaurs just want it to blow over and go away. A bit like our prime minister. I too can see this gradually disappearing from racing conscience until of course the next case of bullying/ harassment comes up. The fact that frost was ostracised so badly might deter future whistleblowers. She has been incredibly brave and I hope the jockeys themselves will look out for this nonsense in the future. As Kevin Blake and others have said it’s a dog eat dog sport so expecting the jockeys to look outside their bubble might be wishful thinking.

Hahaha well said sir.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"December 20, 2021 at 08:16 #1573404Tom Scudamore on the back foot now ???
December 20, 2021 at 08:46 #1573407Still goes on about simmering anger and probably doesn’t really accept the decision or think the independent panel were correct. I’d love for just one jockey to come out and say I got the situation wrong and I’ll be more watchful from now on. Its not rocket science. The fact he still disputes that frost felt ostracised by him says it all. I fear any real change in the weighing room will come from the younger jockeys. Older ones too busy moaning how cocky they are which of course they never were at that age.
December 20, 2021 at 09:06 #1573410I wonder did daddy tell him to wind it in.
December 20, 2021 at 12:13 #1573430If he was told to wind it in, he didn’t make a very good job of it.
The overriding message in there was he had to accept what the verdict
was, damned decent of him, and he disagrees with the state within the
weighing room “I’ve always found the weighing room to be open and very
welcome and there will always be a place for everyone” He also denies
any “frostiness” (no pun intended) betweden him and Bryony, despite the
fact that they don’t share a car to the racecourse, which was often the
case before the row. It’s more like 2 steps forward and 3 back.December 20, 2021 at 12:16 #1573431Tom Scu is no Tom Sawyer when it comes to whitewashing.

Any idea why that might be, o white, straight male heir to a racing dynasty whose brother and father’s partner between them have doled out more than 300 rides to various jockeys already this season?
December 20, 2021 at 19:05 #1573499*not saying that princelings are immune to any unpleasantness. But it helps.
