I’m going with Roberta Has 40s ew- plenty of stamina in the pedigree and age on her side. Got an ew girlie double with Starlet du Mesnil for the Grand Steep too.

I wonder that they did not send Monkfish here given the softer ground and bigger hurdles would have suited him better than Punchestown. Unless he got wrecked at Punchestown.

Hopefully greenasgrass I’ve got the right race.
Here are the thoughts of chairman Willie.
    *
“We have four runners in the Grade 1 Grande Course de Haies D’Auteuil Hurdle (French Champion Hurdle) over 3m 1f. Paul rides Klassical Dream who was second in this race last year. We think he has every chance of running as well if not better this time round. He will be suited by the track and ground. Nico de Boinville comes over from England to partner Asterion Forlonge who has run three solid races since returning from a break. He has a real chance of getting a major share of the prize money. Haut En Couleurs (Johnny Charron) is a course winner but has a lot to make up on official ratings. His pedigree suggests he will stay this trip and we will be very pleased if he can finish in the first half dozen. Kilcruit (Lucas Zuliani) reverts to hurdles after a very impressive win over fences at Punchestown. These hurdles and the ground and trip will suit. It would be terrific if he finishes in the first four or five.”

Klassical dream looks well in here.
Interesting jockey bookings and Nico should be in the shake up too.
Good use of home jockeys by a very shrewd trainer who never moans about travel arrangements affecting his horses.

How heavy is the ground there? Hewick won on “yielding” at Far Hills but that’s hardly comparable to French ground.

    211 / 22113 / 241112
    Thelemes
    To win
Three grade ones and has slammed Hermes Bai comprehensively several times.
So if klassical dream has a weight advantage over last year’s winner he’d still need more to beat Thelemes.
I’m not sure what the racing post are writing about…..
