A few of us are getting together for a pre-xmas drink in London on Tuesday 13th December from 7pm.
We’re meeting up at The Salisbury off of Leicester Square:

Everybody welcome. Hope to see you there.
December 12, 2011 at 08:05 #382257I’ll be there
December 12, 2011 at 16:07 #382330First toast of the evening will be for…
THE OLD BOY
December 12, 2011 at 16:11 #382335Indeed Glenn – Milton is sorely missed in the training ranks.
December 13, 2011 at 13:24 #382486A few details for anyone thinking of popping along.
We’re meeting up anytime fromm 7pm in The Salisbury, St Martin’s Lane (nearest tube Leicester Sq). I’ll probably be there from 7.15pm.
It is traditional to identify the TRF group at these gatherings by placing a copy of the Racing Post on the table, but as I’ve already framed today’s front page of THE OLD BOY that will probably be replaced with a copy of Razzle this year.
For anyone that doesn’t know what anyone looks like, there’s a picture of me here:

Bloody hell Glenn, you do look like Whatshisname?
December 13, 2011 at 13:53 #382494OMG, Glenn, you look like a right thug

I had always pictured you as a bit of a Harry Potter type

Hope you all have a good time but as Gamble once said ‘beware women with big hands, stood at the bar’….
December 13, 2011 at 14:52 #382499Harry Potter? As long as people aren’t picturing me as Mr Potter I don’t care.

December 13, 2011 at 17:41 #382519OK folks, looks like everyone who was going to come is going to have major problems getting in due to Southern Railways and I’ve had three messages from people that can’t make it. As far as I know that leaves me as the only definite!
If anyone else was planning to come but hasn’t made themselves known let me know on this thread and I’ll join you, otherwise I’ll save myself the journey and maybe we can do this another time.

Are you sure its the Trains that have put folk off Glenn?
December 13, 2011 at 22:42 #382568Not a bad pub, Timothy Taylors Landlord was OK, shame nobody turned up but it was packed out anyway.
The only people who said they were from the Forum were a couple of tarts on the game trying to make money !!
I only decided to go at 5pm this evening on the spur of the moment, thought it might be good to put some faces to the names, never mind one day I’ll run into some of you somewhere.

Sorry to hear your evening was spoilt by transport problems, though had I been within 50 miles of Soho that mugshot of Glenn may well have persuaded me to lock the doors and spend an evening feet up by the fire

I don’t go racing much these days but when I do (and when I did regularly) squints across the assembled masses tended to elicit thoughts of ‘what’s your username on The Racing Forum (Smartsig) then’
faces to names indeed

December 14, 2011 at 00:53 #382582I was told that one of the forumites going was a big fan of Jedward. That put me right off.

a lot of questions !Looks like I will be heading up to the citi

I would normally have added… that would sort out two problems in one fell swoop.
But Corm said that I shouldn’t explain everything.
December 14, 2011 at 12:22 #382623I was contemplating this one but was otherwise engaged on Pall Mall.
Still, I’m up for a TRF meet up another time as I was meant to join one a few years ago and failed.
