Selling stakes
Eve Johnson Houghton
Has an excellent record in this race
winning 3 times from six attempts since 2011 (50%)
and sends just one horse to the meeting.
Trainer has not entered this race for the last two years.
Bealach
Has had a wind operation and stables percentage of wins first after op is good. Percentage of wins for horses dropped into sellers is 67% first out.
Correction EJH is 0/3 for first time sellers.
There are actually others in the race with a better strike rate first time sellers one with 50% and anther with 67%.
It is EJHs record in this particular race I’ve highlighted.Sellers are sometimes poor races and the best horse doesnt always win, but the stable targets this race.
Note of caution, Balding and Channon have targeted this race the last twice.

Was mugged by Mars Harper last time out and did nothing wrong in defeat. Although beaten 7 and a half lengths was well backed and should go close again on this occasion.August 31, 2020 at 17:28 #1499422Mean Fomhair 5.30
Won here a year ago and was beaten off here on his comeback run by half a length by Not Rocket Science.
Colin Keane rides for his father and a bold bid is expected.
But at the price he could be worth taling on with Talking Tough. win

He came out of the Tiger Moth race back in june. He hasnt kicked on as yet and will be favourite here. However,,,,
Big Island (nap)
ALatar
Nacho Trace
Will give him plenty to do at much better pricesAlatar continued on an upward spiral running out a ready winner @9/2 was able to make use of being the only handicapper in the race to win with something in hand.
Big Island just missed out on a place running prominently for 4th

Paso Double Won @ 40/1
Jim Bolger came up trumps for GODOLPHIN when Pase Double danced home four plus lengths clear defying a ten month absence in the process. Friendless in the market, the horse went off an unconsidered 40/1 shot under Kevin Manning. The horse had built into its frame considerably in the break and did the job well.September 1, 2020 at 08:07 #1499448Paso Doubles story is an interesting one.
No bigger than 20/1 in the morning.
Opened at 18 hit 50s.
I’m no expert but with no on course market the industry has lost control of sp and indeed the actual market which is great to see. It is exchange driven and if you have a race reading angle or simply a different modus operandi the current system can support you.
300/1 multiple 66//1 and several 100/1 winners in Ireland support that.
In the uk 80/1 150 /1 200/1 have been the sps in the last couple of months.
Bookies may feel they have it covered and the big prices don’t brother them as the other end of the markets is where all the money is hence the 16/5 18/5 and other new odds that appeared this year. The ends of the market dont warrant their attention as no one plays them significantly enough. - AuthorPosts
