5.20 Chelmsford – My Strategy
My Strategy won well over C&D last time out beating previous winners Clampdown (by 5 lengths) and Three Gracez (by a further 4 1/2 lengths) , alot to like about the win on his handicap debut and it looks as though trainer Michael Bell may have found a good opportunity for a follow up. Should be able to cope with the slight rise in class , claimer Louis Steward back in the saddle and he goes to Chelmsford for this one ride , and the trainer only runs this one at the meeting , trainer and jockey have teamed up twice this month resulting in a win and a second , decent run looks on the cards.
My Strategy Win @ 4/55.10 Lingfield – Guards Chapel
C&D winner who never seems to run a bad race here at Leafy Lingfield – 1 , 4 , 4 , 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 6 , 8 , 1 , 3 , 1 , 3 and i honestly cant see why he shouldnt run his usual solid race once again. Has been in good form of late with two wins and two thirds in his last 4 races , the wins and one third coming over todays C&D. Trainer G Moore enjoys a 12% strike rate here and brings only this one to the meeting whilst George Baker has a healthy 17% strike rate at Lingfield and is back on board after riding him in 3 of his last 4 runs , two wins and a third. Has ridden him 9 times in total resulting in 3 wins but is there or thereabouts more often than not when riding so hoping a good run is in the offing.
Guards Chapel EW @ 9/22.30 Pontefract – Ya Hade Ye Delil
Derby entrant and it catches my eye that Dettori goes for just this one ride

4.20 Catterick – Powerful Presence
C&D winner who hasnt really shown anything in the last 2 runs since coming back from a lay off , but i think he’ll be a different proposition now , returning a track he acts round , he has never been out of the first two in 6 runs here at Catterick – 1 , 2 , 1 , 1 , 2 , 2 . The previous two runs will ensure that the cobwebs have been blown away and im sure that the trainer David O’Meara will have spot on for this. Trainer has his string in decent form , since 28th March – 2 , 4 , 2 , 7 , 14 , 2 , 1 , 15 , 1 , 3 , 1 , 4 , 7 , 9 , 2 , 2 , 2 , 2 , 1 , 2 and has a 14% strike rate here at Catterick and the fact that he only runs this one today hasnt gone un noticed and could be a pointer in itself. Jockey David Tudhope has a more than respectable 19% strike rate along with a +9.26 point profit and this is his only ride at the meeting. I think all the signs are there for a decent run and i think he’ll go close here
Powerful Presence Win @ 11/44.50 Catterick – Miss MacNamara / Sherman McCoy
Like the look of a couple in this race , first on the list is Sherman McCoy whose – 1 , 9 , 1 , 2 , 3 here at Catterick. Not too worried about that fact that he’s coming back from a lay off as he has run well fresh before and i cant see any reason why he shouldnt do so again. Finished last season with a decent 3rd in a class 2 at this course and every possibility that he could pick up where he left off last term if he’s fit and well , trainer Majorie Fife has a 14% strike rate round here and brings just this one to the meeting whilst Robert Winston has a 13% strike rate and has won on the horse before , could go well. The other i like is Miss MacNamara a course winner whose record here reads – 1 , 4 , 1 , 1 , 3 , 1 so obviously has a liking for it round here it would seem. Signed off last season with a poor effort at York but that could of been because she found the distance to far , will appreciate this trip much more and should give a better account of herself. Trainer M Todhunter only brings this one here and has an eye catching 29% strike rate along with a very healthy +30.60 profit to his name , whilst jockey Jack Garrity has been amongst the winners lately and has a 13% strike rate here and is well worth his 5lb claim , should make her presence felt.

4.40 Aintree – Parsnip Pete
Won this race last year and given that his trainer and jockey are in decent form i wouldnt rule out a repeat peformance. Seems to like it here at Aintree being two from two and i think its interesting that all his wins over obstacles (large or small) hve come at left handed tracks. Tom George has an 18% strike rate here along with a small profit of +4.12 points whilst jockey Paddy Brennan a 14% strike rate at Aintree and only comes for this one ride. He’s ridden Parsnip Pete in all of his 6 victories and seems to get on well with the horse. If putting his best foot forward i think he stands a solid each way chance.
Parsnip Pete EW @ 14/13.15 Southwell – Quadriga / Trust Me Boy
Like the look of the two at the head of the weights in this , topweight Quadriga caught the eye last time out when defying a wide draw over a mile here beating Candesta by a length and three quarters. A Lot to like about that run / win and despite a 6lb hike in the weights i think he could still make his presence felt in this. Claimer D Parkes helps ease the burden with his 5lb claim and he has a 17% strike rate at Southwell plus a +5.00 point profit , in his last 4 rides here his figures have been – 2 , 3 , 1 , 3. Trainer P Burgoyne has won with his last two runners and only runs this one at the meeting , has a 33% strike rate and a profit of +6.00 points. Not totally convinced that the drop down to 7f will suit but the trainer is sure to know more than me. Should go close. My other selection would be Trust Me Boy , a C&D winner whose record is – 3 , 2 , 1 , 2 round here , and that is – 2 , 1 , 2 over todays C&D. John Long only brings this one today and Robert Havlin only goes for this one ride , enjoys a 20% strike rate here at Southwell and has won on the horse the only time he rode him , over C&D , which boosts my confidence. Shouldnt be far away.
