Is it time to hang up his hooves ? looks fed up in general .
Had Rodi Greene up today and even he couldnt get him interested .
Had a lot of hard races when he was younger and now soured for good in my opinion.
March 8, 2011 at 20:20 #343777I think they might give up the ghost with him shortly. He looks a lost cause.
March 8, 2011 at 21:03 #343783Maybe a bit of hunting and then pointing would re-new his enthusiasm???
March 8, 2011 at 21:29 #343787Why not indeed, Ten Plus.
Ineligible for this Pointing season, obviously, he can take part in the 2011-12 campaign as long as he isn’t silly enough to win a prohibitively penalised pot between now and then.
I’d not actually be surprised if this has already crossed Venetia Williams’ mind. Both the South Herefordshire and the Ross Harriers Point-to-Point fixtures are moving from Garnons, their home since 1984, to land close by (possibly even belonging to) her in time for next season, and she does have the odd hunter in training each year.
What price am I bid from Mark Hill that Flintoff dots up in the South Herefordshire Members 12 months hence?

(PS For them that like to see racecourses one last time before they disappear, what’s very likely to prove to be the final Garnons meeting is the Ross Harriers on Sunday, March 20th. Find it 8 miles west of Hereford, just off A438 (Exit 4, M50), or set SatNavs to HR4 7JX.
At least Garnons secured itself a nice piece of history before it disappeared, when the South Herefordshire meeting there last Sunday saw Richard Burton record a hat-trick that made him the winningmost British Point-to-Point rider in history (385 wins and counting))
