    Finally the jumps season starts proper , some good racing at chepstow with a potential star on the card , what horse is everyone looking forward to seeing ?

    Def a “what if ” with Whisper , wonder what he,s going to be aimed at , one of the handicaps at Cheltenham ?

    Such a pity he got injured after King George as he loves Cheltenham and I fancied him ew for the Gold Cup but I don’t think he would have liked the ground that year. Trouble with handicaps is the weight he has to carry, being a small horse, but I’ll watch out for him wherever he goes.

    This isn’t a very original selection, but the horse I’m really looking forward to is Lostintranslation. I think that he is going to be really impressive this season.

    A week ago I saw a damned good two mile chase at Kelso where the top rated was 160. So we had a jump on everyone by at least a week, and that’s only if you ignore some decent contests at Perth in recent weeks.

    I agree that there have be some competitive races but Chepstow was the the first proper jumps card , I think a lot of people now see it as the kick off of the season
