May 15, 2009 at 12:12 #227789Quite possibly, Colin, quite possibly!
See you there on the day, perhaps?

May 15, 2009 at 12:31 #227792I’d love to be there on the day, GC, but an evening meeting is difficult by public transport.

May 15, 2009 at 15:07 #227835I will be running a couple there in the handi cap hurdle and the three mile chase. Got to support my old mate Dai.
May 15, 2009 at 17:20 #227876I was trying to persuade Grassy to make the trip down – could be a cracking opening event.
May 15, 2009 at 18:03 #227884Can’t really agree with the idea that Ffos Las is convenient for the Irish yards.
True, as the crow flies it isn’t that far but the ferry trip from Rosslare to Fishguard takes in the region of 31/2 – 4 hours. You can add on the trip from the yards to Rosslare and the trip from Fishguard to Trimsaran and it isn’t that convenient.
Colin
The trip is no worse than that from Ireland to Perth and there were a couple of ferries worth of Irish runners at Perth over the two days this week. I think they made up something like a third of the number of runners over the two days and bagged 5 out of 7 races yesterday.

Yeah, do that!
Only fitting to have a meet-up of cyberspace’s greatest racing forum at this momentous event.

May 20, 2009 at 00:05 #228806Post reports 5,000 tickets already sold for opening day – no idea what the capacity is, but it sounds as if entry on the day might be restricted.
Also good news for jumps fans is that the track are investigating the possibility of reviving the Welsh Champion Hurdle.
May 20, 2009 at 00:23 #228816I hope to be there.
May 20, 2009 at 00:43 #228831Does anyone have a course diagram as there doesn’t appear to be one on the website?
May 20, 2009 at 00:46 #228837I would go there but I couldnt put up with all those miners and that bloody singing
May 20, 2009 at 02:20 #228865If they had any sense they would get Katherine Jenkins doing a lap of the course Lady Godiva style before launcing into a rendition of Land of Our Fathers.

Now that I would pay good money to see

Try
<www>
The stands are bottom left in that shot and you can just see a patch of green that I presume is the parade ring.
Very much like Worcester, but without the flooding.

May 20, 2009 at 14:53 #228959They love you, Mr Wilson.
May 20, 2009 at 15:11 #228965Katherine Jenkins is the anti-christ.
Imhaho, of course.
