Stilvi,
Is this the feature in today’s post? If so, connections have said they will leave the decision to go to Cheltenham to the trainer. Lovely horse, and he is very well related.

Yes, I am querying it because apparantly the decision had already been made. If the reported decision is true it would be interesting to hear Arbuthnot’s reasoning behind the about turn. The Festival Bumper hasn’t become a different race in the the couple of weeks after Wincanton – a cast iron candidate has still to emerge – and it is one thing to miss the race but to go novice hurdling at this stage of the season?

Shuil Royale is entered in a novice hurdle at Sandown on Friday.

February 21, 2011 at 14:00 #341576Fingal Bay Absolutely routed the opposition at Exeter and if the ground comes up soft must have an each way chance.
February 21, 2011 at 14:12 #341578Samain in the Gigginstown stud colours looked very special in the bumper win at Naas yesterday. He beat a very creditable field, and has now been trimmed to 14s for the Champion Bumper.

Indeed, this one looked to have gears and I’ve added to my squad at 14s, however the word is that the other horse of Gigginstowns (Lovethehigherlaw) is the No1 contender and I’ve also got this at 14s. Surely one of Willies will make the frame this year ??

Says who exactly sir?
February 22, 2011 at 22:15 #341775A tiny sample, I know, but in a race where there is no real collateral form, no worthwhile speed ratings and with lack of stable information (on my part) I honestly believe this is quite a good approach and I will be employing it again this year.
Agree with this sort approach for the Bumper. There is generally no collateral form so best to watch the races and decide from there.
Ericht, Keys and Knight Pass are the 3 to concentrate on from what I have seen. I dont see much Irish racing and therefore cant possibly put up an irish contender. Granted all 3 are pretty much at the head of the market but all have impressed. As an each way multiple punter these three will all feature in my permutations for the festival.

Go to ATTHERACES webiste, register and then use video form for all Irish runners. They have every single race. Very useful.

If you think you’re going to get a "decent price" about Mullins’s best bumper horse, I suspect you may be disappointed.
Neither Samain nor Lovethehigherlaw will be going to Cheltenham.
