If you like racing you can feel the Spring tingle in the air and in your blood, as once again the festival is upon us and I understand from the weatherman the monsoon season has passed and not a drop of water is expected to fall from the heavens.
Only a winner or two can enhance the enjoyment of the spectacle of the best of the best racing against each other and that is not always the easiest thing to do and to unravel the mystery of each and every race can only blow the mind of even the very best of form lovers.
Time! is a bonus and a luxury not available to us all and this is where FENMAN provides a simple, easy and quick method for us to follow. I have done just that in the past and ended with some cash remaining in my pockets and sometimes more than that with which I started.
I will try to post the selections throughout the week so that we can see how FENMAN stands up against any of your own betting ideas.
1) Each race look for any or all Course and Distance (CD) winners on the race card.
2) If more than one select the shortest price and the one having a most recent race.
3) The “Bet of the Day” being the one horse at the lowest price for the day.
I do not wish to complicate matters but the selection 3) indicates the forecast prices are the guide rather than the Starting Prices and I shall be “guided” by the D. Mirror and so selections can vary but I hope a profit will be made by the end of the week.

March 13, 2016 at 15:10 #1237227I have the utmost respect for Gary Nutting who is one of my favourite tipsters but on reading the SUN (Sunday) pull-out regarding Cheltenham I was surprised to find his selections for the Four Days.
There may be some non runners and withdrawals along the way but it will be interesting to pit FENMAN against such a pro’ tipster and so I wish them both well.
Here is the Gary Nutting list.

March 13, 2016 at 22:10 #1237272Kind of you Nathan to suggest it but this will take enough of what little time I have.
The good lady Daphne knows what to expect this week and already is scheduling my tasks so that I am free to watch the TV in the afternoon.

March 14, 2016 at 09:51 #1237329Giving thought to FENMAN’s strong belief there are “Horses for Courses” has allowed me to scrutinise todays races as a warming up process in readiness for tomorrow. Perhaps like us all the anticipation is akin to a child on Christmas Eve awaiting the big day.
The elements FENMAN has laid down as always with himself are pure logic and cannot be faulted, by myself that is, although I am sure there are others with different ideas.
Previous COURSE & DISTANCE form speaks for itself
At the shortest price is a tip in its own right.
The most recent runner (when more than required) speaks for fitness.
Neither Taunton or Plumpton will ever be Cheltenham but FENMAN does consider Plumpton as one of the NH courses having an element of difficulty that may suit a specific type of horse. Be that as it may and I am not ignoring the man but by way of warming towards the festival I have selected those CD runners today: –
Plumpton:
3.15 Bobbits way Non runner – 3.45 Flugzeug Lost – 4.45 Head Spin 2nd 4/1Taunton:
2.50 Oscar Jane Won 3/1– 4.55 Ballyegan LostOscar Jane has the shortest forecast price at 2/1 and Ballyegan has the mosr recent race only 11 days ago.
PS. I have been searching through FENMAN’s book “Words from the Wise” for something I had ignored, simply because it does not suit my betting style but it does not mean it will not suit others who prefer better prices. Anyway, when back checked against a previous festival it was found when selecting the CD horse in the race at the longest of prices it was proved to be the most profitable.
If applied to today I find FLUGZEUG at 6/1 (Mirror forecast) would be the choice. . . Lost

March 15, 2016 at 08:55 #1237555Yesterdays “warm up” finding a 3/1 winner has made me have a look through the meetings away from Cheltenham just to see if there are any little gems to be discovered.
With two AW Flat meetings today it was expected there were many course specialists but there are two which look very suitable: –
Southwell 5.10 TATTING at 1/1 Stan James Withdrawn
Wolverhampton 6.40 BINKY BLUE e/w at 9/2 bet365 Lost
