Bad day for them – hasn’t been one since 14:50!
Finally, an "evens" shot obliges in the 17:20.
Brings back memories of "Seagull" and his thread.

was 1.01 in running when he ducked out at Exeter as well! Really bad day for favourite punters in every way.
October 21, 2014 at 16:48 #493070Do some people just back the favs in every race?
October 21, 2014 at 16:51 #493071Yes, a lot of people do back in this manner.
October 21, 2014 at 17:09 #493072I managed a betting office for 10 years and most of the punters, who bet race to race, in the shop were favourite backers.
The large percentage of backers had little concept of value and the occasional question such as:- "Excuse me, is 11/8 a better price than 5/4?" gave some indication of the knowledge levels of some bettors.
My all time favourite question though, and one which caused my eyes to glaze over, was this gem:-
"Here Mr Bookie, if I put a Yankee on and all four horses win, am I guaranteed to get back more money than I put on?"
This is the wrong time of year to be backing short prices.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
