    Really unfortunate for racing.

But I secretly can’t help but feel that improves my big bet on ADO RSA chances massively.

Surely Yorkhill goes Arkle now and Bellshill JLT?

Yorkhill goes champion hurdle if anything. Better chance he stays at JLT than Arkle. No way would they sacrifice JLT fav to come second to Altior.
Whereas the champion hurdle is winnable

It is a shame, but no great surprise that they will not be going. I cannot find it anywhere, I am sure it was on here last year and not Betfair, but there was a thread for special or novelty bets for Cheltenham. It was not the Cheltenham bets thread. I am sure somebody put up a bet that none of the Mullins/Ricci hotpots would win and the guy had very decent odds, and he even speculated that none of them would make it to the festival at allhe seemed very confident. I seem to remember he was adamant Senewalk was very average as well.

No harm to the guys bet, but I hope that they wrap Douvan up in Cotton Wool now, and he at least can put in a superstar performance, as we need as many of the big names there as possible.

I can’t see Mullins not having a runner in one of the biggest races outside the main 4 of the festival in the Arkle.

He doesn’t have a viable champion hurdle horse now though?
And I’d rather win JLT than 2nd in Arkle
Yorkhill out to 10/1 on exchanges for Arkle. Only way he goes there is if Altior pulls out

    Haha
I was havi this convo with my uncle the other day, saying about how much Mullins hotpots give so much good value to the other horses and there’s always some that pull out or change race and it’s great for us non-Mullins ante post betters

Can’t believe that this is the first year I can remember when I haven’t been having speculative ante post bets on long shots for races such as the ChH. Just goes to show how brilliant PN was during the Kauto Star years bringing all those horses back year after year; Denman, KS,Nipper and Big Bucks.

What PN has achieved with Kauto, Denman, Master Minded and Big Bucks is really unique. No matter how good Douvan, Faugheen and Vautour are/were, the Nicholls horses have achieved by far a lot more in so many seasons.

Just can’t believe that he can’t win any more races with Dodging Bullets, Vibrato Valtat and the rest of his horses once rated 150+.

They’ll send in the super sub for the champion hurdle VVM I predict

I’m hoping that Yorkhill gets re-routed to the CH. Got it @12s in a treble with Unowhatimeanharry @14s and Thistlecrack @5s.

Mullins has had very bad luck this year! Ricci must be pissed off and wondering what’s going on.

I think York hill will be supplemented for the Champion hurdle even though connections have Nicolas canyon running the race.

What I don’t understand is why York hill wasnt entered in the first place knowing Faugheen and Annie were not firing?

If he stays chasing he will be JLT bound.

This seems to show how much you should listen to Ruby Walsh about the horses in the Mullins yard, as it’s like he’s not completely in the loop. After commenting that faugheen is grand then couple of hours later turns out he injured. He’s not doing it on purpose, but if he was in the know maybe he’d say before he gets interviewed ‘don’t ask me about faugheen’

I’ve bought tickets for champion hurdle day two years running because I wanted to see faugheen in person. If I was Rich Ricci I’d be pissed off. 4 out of 5 star horses won’t be turning up at Cheltenham this season.

The problem with those interviews is that ruby might have seen faugheen working well or in good form last Thursday, did the interview on Friday, didn’t see him all weekend, interview is published on Monday and now he looks a fool

He said something on the Opening Show the other day about not knowing about an injury or situation until he phoned the yard ( i think ), which i found difficult to believe given that these people have known and worked together for decades.

It sounded to me like Wenger’s ” I didn’t see it ” when asked post-match about an incident during the game.

Yorkhill -if anything- is surely rerouted to the Champion Hurdle. Based on his last performance over fences he definitely doesn’t jump well enough to beat Altior in the Arkle.

    EDIT: mixed up my races

They are obviously schooling Yorkhill to jump fences. I cant see them changing their prep now to put him over hurdles. Here’s my prediction..

Supreme – Melon, Crack Mome, Bunk Off Early
    Arkle – Yorkhill
Champion Hurdle – Vroum Vroum Mag, Footpad, Nichols Canyon
    Mares Hurdle – Limini

Neptune – Saturnas, Lets Dance, Cilaos Emery
    RSA – Haymount
    Champion Chase – Douvan
Champion Bumper – Getabird, Ballyward, Carter McKay

    JLT – Bellshill
    Ryanair – Un De Sceaux
    Stayers – Shaneshill, Clondaw Warrior
Mares Novice – Airlie Beach, Asthuria

    Triumph – Bapaume, Meri Devie
Albert Bartlett – Augusta Kate, Battleford
    Gold Cup – Djakadam

I was sure he’d have at least 6 winners; I’d say that he will be lucky to get 4 now. Maybe he will leave Yorky in the JLT and Bellshill in the RSA; if he does that I think he is guaranteed at least one win from the two. If he goes Arkle & JLT he has a good chance at winning neither.

Firstly…Massive shame to see both these stars missing from the Festival this year.

But why do Mullins/Ricci and Walsh always have to perform some kind of circus act it seems every year?

As a punter you really do have to take things they say with a pinch of salt.

I guess their only option now is to re-route Yorkhill to the CH, move Bellshill to the JLT and leave VVM in the Mares.

Would be nice however, if they just left it as it is….wishful thinking.

    I should of cashed out.

I think wylie would rather win the champion hurdle with yorkhill, than finish 2nd to altior or win the jlt, since he stepped off the course last time out they could have been schooling him over hurdles again the same way hendo did with bvd

i think the CH, JLT and RSA markets are deadly right now, i wont be touching any now

But for the fun of it i think

american tom to be his main jlt horse now along with haymount

Bellshill to stay in the rsa

Aslong as airlie turns up in the mares novice im happy :yahoo:

    Vvm to goto the stayers

Wouldnt back much at this point

The least likely option for yorkhill is the arkle in my opinion. Why would u move him from an easier race into face altior. If u were going to move him at all then surely the champion hurdle would be a more prestigious race to win. I think he will stay at 2.5 miles and run in JLT. Mullins doesn’t usually chop and change his horses between fences and hurdles. It would be very unlike him.
