Time this incredible horse started getting the credit he deserves. Inexpensive, unfashionably-bred, winner at all distances, in all grounds, against all opposition, unbeaten, almost never off the bridle. Only shame is we won’t see him over a fence, could be even better over the big ones.
May 2, 2015 at 09:36 #932895He is the best hurdler I’ve seen I think. The Frankel of hurdling.
Interesting that Willie campaigned him in the UK until yesterday, quite a rare campaign for a Mullins horse I think. He looks unbeatable at the minute, regardless of tactics, ground or trip.
May 2, 2015 at 09:54 #932923It doesn’t matter if he has a soft lead or not as if a horse bolts off in front Ruby will just leave it go and run the horse on it’s own fractions with his ticking watch in his skullcap, the horse settles well, travels powerfully and has a lovely balance of pace and stamina. However the machine will not always be a machine and horses do regress and younger fresher legs will step up and eventually take over. By that time though I expect him to add another two Champion Hurdles to his cv.

May 3, 2015 at 19:28 #935192Not sure he would win another if his mani opposition was not owned by Rich Ricci and trained by Wilie Mullins.
I think Douvan would beat him and a fully fit Annie Power IMOMay 3, 2015 at 19:54 #935197Love Annie, agree we haven’t seen her achieve her full potential, partly due to ownership; think she would have won Jezki’s champion hurdle. But Faugheen seems at a different level.
May 3, 2015 at 20:37 #935241I love Annie Power and would love to see her tested, not mop up mares races. But 60,000 euro first prize at Punchestown so you can hardly blame them. But just let her take Faugheen on once… please!
