I am a form expert
Aye – self-appointed, and deluded.
December 4, 2011 at 22:39 #381089I’d answer Pinza’s question with a further one.
How may strikes do you think a jockey should be allowed to deliver and on what basis do you make that judgement?
December 4, 2011 at 22:50 #381092I still stand by my opening post and thought it was a terrific ride from Coleman to win the race.
As Pinza pointed out there in his excellent piece, quite a number of the strokes were clearly to try to straighten up a horse hanging quite badly. I thought Coleman showed excellent balance with just one hand on the reign when the horse first started to hang, especially considering this was nearing the end of a very competitive race on heavy ground and conceding his rival over a stone and a half in weight.
At the elbow he then pulled the whip through to his other hand, gave it another smack to straighten up again and then got down and rode a great finish in my eyes.
Saying Carberry should have been closer throughout and would have won comfortably if he had been is pure fantasy. There’s absolutely nothing in the horses profile to suggest that be the case. He got there in plenty of time and jumped the last in front, if anything he could quite possibly hit the front too soon?
At the end of the day, Coleman did everything he possibly could to keep safe (with the horse hanging) and then to ride out a cracking finish. It’s a crying shame for me that rides like this are being penalised in the way they are.
I wasn’t talking through my pocket in any way either as my selection pulled up way out!!

All these questoins and arguements from you boys! Ca’nt you just enjoy what was a lovely race. Aidans a lovely boy too, and i don’t know why theyv’e taken away his money. It does’nt seem right to me but what do i know? I’m just a retired lady with a pension now. Mind you i also think that if you boys listened more to the LADIES on the forum, like Moehat and Grey Mare and Matron, thered be less argueing! Just enjoy the races.

I’m sure David Cormack made clear that Matron is in fact a man, as mentioned in another thread. Know what you mean, though. Back to the in-fighting…..

Reet,
Of course if I say so myself, then it is "self-appointed".
EDITED.
I’ll leave others to decide whether I am "deluded" or not Reet.

December 5, 2011 at 08:19 #381140Pinza is now combining twitter with a blog – probably the future anyway and a format that will allow his musings a wider audience.
Anyway Pinza’s views on this subject are here:
Most of which is predictable, emotive, unsubstantiated, a combination of mildly amusing and delusional.
It is reminiscent of having to listen to the ramblings of a batty old relative – just humour them and pass them a biscuit.
For somebody as erudite as he seems to be, he has a complete lack of understanding of the word "evidence"
December 5, 2011 at 08:46 #381142Jamie Stier greeting to Aiden Coleman coming back to the weighing room "What are you doing to me?"
What a ****! Like to see him try that line with Kieren Fallon or one or two others.
What are the jockeys doing letting him anywhere near the weighing room?December 5, 2011 at 12:28 #381173I hope Coleman would’ve laughed.
Value Is EverythingDecember 5, 2011 at 12:37 #381176Should have hit him with his whip – he’s allowed eight strokes, isn’t he?!

Yeah, very funny having your livelihood taken from you for doing your best

NO – banned for breaking the rules – if you believe breaking the rules equates to doing your best then all I can say is you and I have a very different outlook on life.
But then again life would be boring if we all agreed

If the rules are wrong, then ppl are entitled to treat them with the contempt they deserve.
If ppl never rebelled against bad laws, this world wouldn’t be a very nice place. Sometimes, the right thing to do is to say ‘no’ if you know you are right. - AuthorPosts
