    That is harsh..

Plenty of people will use the English language in a non-scientific way to convey their enthusiam for a horse. I don’t think shooting them down with a "Mr Logic" style reply is justified….

Personally, I think that Fantasia will win the 1000 Guineas, the Oaks, the Arc, the Breeders’ Cup, a Hamilton seller and the Eurovision Song Contest while breaking the sound barrier on each occasion.

I hope this post has the effect of returning this thread to its former level.

Unless Rainbow View is pulled out of the 1,000 Guineas, there is not a hope on this green and pleasant land that Fantasia will take her on at Newmarket.

It is not Mr. Strawbridge’s thing to pit his best animals against one another. Just won’t happen.

It will be good for British racing if they both meet at Newmarket.

    However:

Fillies of Rainbow View’s size are often at their peak sooner than more sizable animals. So if she does not win the English 1000, others MIGHT improve past her in time.

She usually gets on her toes and sweats. Although it has not effected her so far, if it gets worse there is a possibility "temperament" may get the better of her.

Therefore, if she does not win the English 1000, she may not win another group 1.

So if Fantasia runs against Rainbow View in the English 1000 it just MIGHT prevent the Gosden filly winning a group 1 at three. Without Fantasia she should have a few lengths in hand.

With Proportional disappointing on reappearance Fantasia has every chance of a comfortable win in the French Guineas.

After their 1000 victories (and my Rainbow View ante-post wager is won) Fantasia can go for the Oaks or French Oaks, Rainbow View can go to Ireland (if her temperament allows her to travel). Then the "Coronation" can happen when the two meet at Royal Ascot.

Unless Fantasia proves herself at middle distances and can go to Ireland.

Was very much taken with Fantasia she looks a good filly and will easily get 1m and maybe 1m2f given in time.

At the end of the day George Strawbridge owns the two fillies and can run them wherever he wants.

I would not run them both against each other but maybe the Falmouth could be the meeting place for both as the season goes on.

    Much ado about nothing?

Now in the cold light of day let’s look at the facts.

As impressive as she looked there is no evidence pointing to the fact Fantasia is some sort of wonder filly.

Look at what she beat: The winner of a 6k Class 4 race on the all weather at a night meeting at Kempton. The third won a 4.5K class 5 maiden. The 4th a 6k all weather at lowly Wolverhampton.

That was as near to a true guineas trial as a Seller at Hamilton

All that race proved is she is fit and well and has trained on. It does not alter the fact that Ranbow View made complete mincemeat of her at Ascot.

Ask yourselves this: Would Rainbow View have beat that lot yesterday? I suggest she could have started a furlong behind them and still won.

My advice? Nice filly send her to France and don’t be wasting your time going to Newmarket where she’ll only get her ass kicked.

Now then Now then, Rainbow View was an exceptional 2yo? Why? because she beat an exceptional filly in Fantasia, but i for one think as 3yo"s Fantasia has way more scope for improvement than Rainbow has,
unfortunately Fantasia looks a proper miler, but because of the weight of
expectation from the Rainbow view camp, Fantasia wont meet her rival
again.Had they not been in the same ownership, Fantasia would be 7/4fav
for the 1000gns with Rainbow Views 3/1 2nd fav, These 2 are special fillies
Fist but you wouldn"t know the back end of a bus!! And dont write off Proportional either!

I am a believer that the best horses should run against the best horses, rather than this avoiding each other all season shi’ite. Why shouldn’t Rainbow View go one-on-one with Fantasia several times this season in the same way Henrythenavigator and Raven’s Pass did so many times last year. Rainbow View might win the first three and then Fantasia comes back at the end of the season, just like Raven’s Pass did, or vice-versa. I don’t like all this avoid each other, like we see in Jumps Racing. There’s one thing I’m sure about…Fantasia would be a certain for the Guineas if Strawbridge hadn’t purchased her. I still think she will go for the Guineas, or maybe that’s just hopeful!

I suggest she could have started a furlong behind them and still won.

Good filly – exceptional filly possibly – that Rainbow View is, there is no evidence that she or any other horse ever born could run a mile in less than 1:26.93.

The world record, according to the internet, is 1:31.41…

I think, perhaps, he was exaggerating for effect :?:

Fantasia did a lot more than just demonstrating she was "fit and well and has trained on" – it was probably the most visually impressive Classic Trial win seen on these shores for many a year. I think she would be a deserving favourite were she to meet Rainbow View in the Guineas.

Of course I was only trying to make a point.

A point you and many others are chosing to ignore.

We see this way too often, where horses are hyped to hell when they win a poor race impressively.

Example: Look at Kasbah Bliss when he beat a 2nd rate hurdler pre Cheltenham.

Banker of the meeting! much better horse than last year! was the cry.

Punters totally blind to the fact the form was worth next to nothing.

If Fantasia had beaten something worth talking about you could just about make her joint fav if you wanted to ignore the fact Rainbow View has much superior form.

To make her favourite for the 1000 guineas for looking good against a bunch of 5k maiden winners is total madness.

Of course the bookies are brilliant at it. False fav a day keeps the doctor away

Not read any other post just the thread title so sorry if I repeat what others have said. IMO why should they clash? There are plenty of group 1 races and classics they both can run in and if I owned them I would keep them apart, certainly for now so they can try and get as many pots as they can. A 1-2 may be great for punters and forcasts, but a French Guineas winner and an English Guineas winner is better for the owner. Then 1 for the Irish and 1 for the Coronation or Oaks.

If they were mine (I wish) I would run both in Newmarket Guineas. That would probably guarantee I won the race. From there, I would send whichever didn’t win to the Irish Guineas and hope for a win there. But I can fully understand why you would want to keep them apart.

If I owned the pair I would do my best for them to avoid each other throughout their career and would get infinitely more pleasure from winning the French & English Guineas than finishing 1st and 2nd at Newmarket.
Whether Fantasia runs at Newmarket or not will not effect my enjoyment of the sport one iota.

I think that is spot on Yeats

If I owned two very good fillies I would try to win both Guineas – and I’m sure nearly everyone else would in reality…

A clash of the pair has been completely ruled out by Strawbridge according to RP website.
