In 2013 Sky Lantern was cheated out of victory in this race after being carried across the whole track. Had there been no rail they would still be going now.
The following year Sky Lantern turned up but finished last unable to win the race that she deserved
Now she will send her daughter Snow Lantern into battle to follow in her footsteps as a group 1 winner

I remember that day very well Nathan.
Shame Sky Lantern wasn’t trained by Wesley Ward she’d have had the result reversed in the Steward’s Room.

I’ll be cheering Snow Lantern home in the Falmouth and hope to see her in the flesh for the first time.

William Hill have priced up the race
Snow Lantern 6/1. That will do for starters
Saffron Beach has been confirmed an intended runner

Paddy and Betfair both go 4s on Snow Lantern.
You can still get 6’s with William Hill.
Starts nearer 2/1 and wins hard held

    Indie Angel supplemented
17 remain but when Hannon tells the world this horse now settles like a jelly in fridge a fair few will drop out.
You can still get 9/2 .. :bye:

Going to give her one more chance

If she doesn’t settle this time she won’t be carrying my money again

I think if the field remains in the doubles you expect a decent enough gallop which would help her settle
its strange that she settled beautifully and travelled like a beast at Newbury when given her head. I think they wanted to conserve her when they went to York with an idea of maybe tackling the Oaks and held her up to see if she would settle in behind which was a fail

Been sitting here tonight trying to be in Richard Hannon’s shoes and work out who might ride Snow Lantern on Friday.

Bearing in mind Sean Levey has been unsuccessful in steering her home last two rides and the fact that RH is very keen to win this particular race with regard to the Sky Lantern/Elusive Kate incident my money would be on James Doyle to bring her home. :good:

Noticed that James Doyle has 4 rides booked so far for Friday but no ride in the Falmouth..Sean Levey has two booked rides for Friday not including the Falmouth so please Mr Hannon grab James Doyle while he’s free and give Snow Lantern her best chance to win this race.. :rose:

Snow Lantern is a great story for the race, given her Dam got robbed in it. But at a current best price of 4/1, 7/2 generally, she looks shocking value for this deep and impressive looking field.

I don’t see any need to have a proper look until some certainty about the Ground on the day is known – so unfortunately for everyone else, I will be commenting again in more detail nearer to the race.

Not a usual betting race for me, but going to take a chance on Fooraat here. Not got close to fulfilling her early promise, but thought she ran ok in The Duke of Cambridge, and she wasn’t that far away. They’re clearly persevering with her, and looks worth a chance at the price.

Probably a chance I could beat those odds on the day, but for now, an early go, and hoping she gets declared.

Sadly Fooraat not running Bobby that would have been a decent EW if she had but 14/1 on the winner of the Duke Of Cambridge Indie Angel is great value in my mind. :good:

I’m still sticking with Snow Lantern even though Sean Levey has the ride again, just hope he keeps out of trouble and that she gets a clear run all the way home.

Having a saver on Indie Angel though as she is just the type to win this race she showed a terrific turn of foot to come and take the Duke of Cambridge and have some of these in her wake.

    Snow Lantern – 4/1 WIN
    Indie Angel – 14/1 EW

    Reverse Forecast

Love this race and a decent field of very talented fillies. :good: Jac

Its not a good draw if they go right after the stalls open.
