Sorry if this has been discussed b4, I was impressed with the debut run and very impressed to see My Way De Solzen also beat by Fair Along recently, with the odds now slashed to 3/1 in places, from well over 10s earlier, is there a good chance that this horse will win the Arkle?
December 11, 2006 at 14:52 #33330Nothing looks to have stronger claims at this stage.
December 11, 2006 at 15:07 #33331I wouldn’t write off My Way yet, on an undulating track I think he’ll get closer to fair along, although FA is an admirable horse that I hope wins it…
December 11, 2006 at 15:13 #33332I got Fair Along at 10/1 a while back so am hoping he wins! :cheesy:
December 11, 2006 at 15:28 #33333I still think there are other 2 mile novice chasers out there we don’t know enough about yet.. I’m interested in the french horse Tidal Fury.. But i’d like to see it run..
Also does anyone know if Faasel is going to go novice chasing?
December 11, 2006 at 15:58 #33334I was there when Fair Along won his first 2 hurdle races at Bangor very impressively although didn’t beat much. He was with a small owner trainer then ( forgotten who) obviously sold with potential and he’s fulfilling it in spades. seems to really enjoy the game, jumps superbly & has calmed down from the early days, so long as he isn’t over raced he’s a very exciting prospect & so young too. I hope he wins at Cheltenham.
Faasel is a whole different ball game, just missed out in the Triumph, but seems to have his own ideas about the game, worn blinkers intermittently all his career. Believe he his going Novice Chasing (he’ll either love it or loath it, no in betweens) I hope it’s the former, but I would never back him.
December 11, 2006 at 16:22 #33335Im pretty sweet on Glenfinn Captain at this stage. Has to be pitted of course, but deffo going in the right direction.
December 11, 2006 at 17:13 #33336At this stage Fair Along has looked the most impressive two mile novice to me. Anyone that has 10/1 has certainly got a fair price IMO. Good horse and looked tough when hassled by My Way De Solzen last time. I wouldn’t want to be on anything else for the Arkle ……………………………. at this stage.
December 11, 2006 at 17:51 #33337<br>I have been impressed with both MWDS and Fair Along. But don’t rule out Lennon. His jumping at Aintree was very impressive. At 14-1 he looks great value.
December 11, 2006 at 21:57 #33338Absolutely no chance .. the season is only just underway and people tend to forget all of the good horses we haven’t seen yet.

What horse has better claims at present if he has no chance?
December 12, 2006 at 05:39 #33340I was really impressed with Fair Along the other day and he’s my choice for the Arkle, but then waddoo I know!
December 13, 2006 at 13:01 #33341I think Fair Along has impressed, he has impressed me so far. However, I do like Lennon, he is a very tidy jumper, though he has not beaten much, it will be interesting when he meets the big boys.

December 13, 2006 at 16:43 #33342My reservation with Lennon is that he just looks a bit slow for the Arkle.. If I could come up with some beatlesque quip here I would but i’m feelin brain dead!
December 13, 2006 at 16:46 #33343My reservation about Lennon is his form looks very weak. Penzance clearly isn’t the force over fences that he was over hurdles in his Triumph season. And on his other start at Aintree he beat a non-tryer. I’d want to see much more before I played at 14’s and I cannot see him being much shorter than 10’s on the day.
December 13, 2006 at 16:52 #33344I agree DJ, the form is weak. But I do look forward to when he is put to the sword.

December 14, 2006 at 00:06 #33345I’ve bet on Fair Along, Tidal Fury and M De S, but have a suspicion that there may be others, such as the last two, who take as little out of themselves with their jumping, but should have faster flat speed.
