If there needs to be a new section of the forum for Cheltenham (can’t see why, to be honest) it needs to be right at the top of the page, rather than hidden away underneath parts of the forum that are hardly ever used. Like it or not, Cheltenham is the most important thing happening in racing for the next few days so a section for it needs to be in the most prominent position possible on the forum.

To be honest, there has never been any problems in previous years with the forum getting too clogged up with Cheltenham posts, so if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

I like Cheltenham .. not as much as everyone else obviously, but I just want it over now, I’m sick of hearing about it.

I do think the Chelters threads should be in here though, sorry Jim, its all a part of the obsession.

Thanks David for your reply and apologies for opening a hornet’s nest for you.

I just think that we all look forward so much to this Festival and rightly so, that it deserves pride of place on any forum and that all other discussion should, for a short time, have to fight it out for popularity with the main event even though it looks messy.  As interesting as some other topics on at the moment may be, more to the flat enthusiast I would say,  tucking Cheltenham away whilst looking a good idea initially,  is stifling debate and the general vibrancy of the forum which can be a touch pedestrian at the best of times.

I agree very much with what Happy Jack just had to say there but maybe it’s a bit late to move things back again now:)

<br>I’m a bit like you Dave, Cheltenham is good but it doesn’t excite me like most on here and I think those that wanted the Cheltenham threads in the racing section were afraid that Cheltenham might have lost something had it had a section all to itself and was further down the page but that’s only because Corm probably didn’t know how to move the section nearer the top – it happens! :(

It certainly is an obsession for most! :(
