Quote: from davidjohnson on 10:15 pm on Jan. 5, 2007[br]Cloudy Lane is a horse I really like. Jumped really well on his chasing debut at Aintree and things haven’t gone to plan since for all he got off the mark at Newcastle the time before last. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him win a good handicap somewhere before the season is out, particulalry as his jumping will hold him in good stead at the bigger tracks.
One of my better calls!!!
March 14, 2007 at 17:58 #86202Hope you backed him DJ. I lost faith and backed Lord Of Illusion and some other dog.
March 14, 2007 at 18:18 #86203Ante-post at 20’s which makes us for some of the other garbage I’ve backed this week.
March 16, 2007 at 08:04 #86205Well spotted, DJ, and congrats on backing your judgement.

Initially held up out wide, in line for home he was switched on to the inner and ran on well without being knocked about. Hard to see him getting a mark too much higher than mid 60’s and I’ll be surprised if he isn’t placed to advantage over 7f+.
Well that was worth waiting for!!!!!!
April 27, 2007 at 11:59 #86211Fantastic stuff DJ,
The kind of horse the bookies would be running for cover from on it’s handicap debut.
No surprise to see it entered up quickly in 2 events next Wednesday under a 6lb penalty. Kinda get the feeling though that it will be very very short and the money might have already been won with the horse.
Your thoughts DJ?
April 29, 2007 at 19:30 #86212Hi Sailing Shoes
Would pretty much agree with your assessment. Wouldn’t be keen to go in again at a much shorter price. Like you say it was a case of job done at Catterick.
May 16, 2007 at 21:03 #86213Last Sovereign beaten at 4/7 in a handicap next time out. :o
May 17, 2007 at 08:45 #86215I thought Jeer ran a cracker in the last at York yesterday.
Only his fourth run, looked a really strong type and his SP of 16/1 suggests there is something left to work on.

Not sure that the course will suit though.
