January 25, 2009 at 00:05 #206316honey and banana sandwiches [wholemeal bread]…though I was the only person over the age of 5 who ate honey and bananas; what a relief that someone else does [bet men don’t eat that…..]
January 25, 2009 at 00:14 #206317Pompete,
you’ve got it all wrong – it should be Cheese & Onion crisps, instead of Salt & Vinegar. In the sandwich, you should also have sliced cucumber, and tartare sauce.
I can’t believe I am giving away one of my most secret recipes.

Toasted banana sandwiches, and I can still occasionally get it up.
January 25, 2009 at 00:19 #206319Ordinarily I wouldn’t try and compete with the treat that is a crisp sandwich, but I’ve just knocked up a bacon (fat browned and crispy) butty with some leftover stuffing and it was extremely satisfying.
From 30 days earlier?
January 25, 2009 at 00:32 #206321Smiths Salt’N’Vinegar "Square" crisps on a buttered white roll.
Walkers Worcester sauce crisps on toast (the bread must be white ‘Plain’ variety, and shiny with melted butter).
I’m fecking ravenous now.

As an aside, I can’t believe fish finger sandwiches haven’t been mentioned yet. But it deserves a whole new thread, as you can either go down the mayonnaise route or the garlic salt and vinegar path. As for the people who put catchup on it. . .

That’s magic, does it work? I’ve been telling my better half that we’ve got some Tiramisu ice cream in the freezer now for days, she hasn’t moved in the right direction yet, but i will keep asking.

Only the red packet though the beef flavour, not so keen on the green packet. Wham bars were great aswell although the dentist didn’t agree.

Baked Bramleys, cored and stuffed with sultanas, sprinkled with cinnamon and molasses is a desert island dessert
January 26, 2009 at 01:05 #206513I love chocolate but my usual snack has to have cheese as a part of it, either a slab of cheddar or stilton with a big blob of pickle or chutney, accompanied by a glass of red wine. I’m not into stuff on toast, or sandwiches much, but if I’m forced to eat a sandwich, I’ll have almost anything in it as long as it’s oozing with thousand island dressing.
My Grandpa (who went by the name of Harry Potter BTW) used to eat EVERY evening of his life…..Tuc biscuits broken into a mug of hot bovril made with hot milk. He’s fish the soggy lumps out witha spoon and I can hear him slurping still
January 26, 2009 at 03:13 #206544A pickled egg popped into a bag of smokey bacon crisps which are then shook to coat the egg with the bacon flavouring and then the whole thing demolished – preferably with a pint.
January 26, 2009 at 03:32 #206548I read this thread too quickly and now I feel very sick.
Adrian – pickled eggs and smokey bacon crisps? Seriously?
January 31, 2009 at 22:14 #207377Jesus, you jocks and northerners eat horribly. No wonder you are all brown bread by 60
Always disliked crisps.
Snacks?
Peanuts. And peanut butter on toast. Has to be Skippy brand (although M&S’s own is good)
Cavs baked bean on ciabatta is not bad though
