Going further back in time, whatever happened to one-time champion apprentice Dominic Forte (related to Sir Charles, I believe)?
November 23, 2007 at 19:00 #126466Owen is still training, I think, though clearly with the onset of time and the loss of most of his higher profile owners (e.g. Lady Anne Bentinck to John Quinn) his stock is lower than at any time previously.
His stats for this current season are one win and no other podiums from 29 runners, and that win was gained with a 75-rated chaser called Chain in the most slapstick of circumstances at Towcester in the early days of this campaign.
Hardly shades Strath Royal, Skegby, Invasion or Speaker Weatherill, alas!
His most recent runners were a couple of DNFs at Rasen a week last Sunday.
Martin, I think, went off to the States in the late 90s to gain some measure of training experience, though I’d appreciate confirmation of that.

(graysonscolumn)He went to Dubai for a while and worked for some a racing club? something to do with arranging flights for members’ Mind you that was along time ago and could have gone to the states later.
Had no idea his Owen Brennan was still training.
November 23, 2007 at 22:05 #126493Ah, Dubai half rings a bell, FoF!
Either way, there don’t appear any immediate signs that he’s about to come home and attempt to reinvigorate dad’s diminishing operation.
