I like him too. I remember him once saying that you needed two things as a trainer: hard work and a bit of luck. He then said he could not do anything about a bit of luck but no one was going to beat him on hard work.
A great attitude and he deserves his success.
He was profiled on RTV recently with his family and they seem like really nice people.
Dodgy. Puts the handbrake on his horses and the only way you can know when it has been released is when the money comes for them. Must be something about the ‘Williams’ as Christian is exactly the same. Suppose its the only way to make money for trainers with less firepower, though Evan’s horses often cost 6 figures.
No idea what he is like as a bloke so no comment on that.
Trainer who punters need to keep a close eye on – I will leave it at that.

Don’t know if people are aware of this but Christian Williams has a lovely set-up at Ogmore-by-Sea. The horses are regularly walked down the River Ogmore as it flows out to sea. A bit bracing for the riders during the winter months.
Christian Williams was profiled on RTV in the same programme as his namesake Evan. His location does look like a lovely place to train but it sounds as though he is thinking of moving to larger premises elsewhere.

I know trainers do tend to say nice things about the hand that feeds them but it’s still good to hear owners getting thanked for their loyalty, as after Prime Venture’s win today. Evan Williams always does seem grateful to owners large and small especially the ones that have been with him a long time, and it’s good for the owners to hear that they’re not just taken for granted.
