Ok, I’m a bit embarrassed about putting this up under the banner of “General-Sports,
but I know it’s going to be inflicted on me by Mrs BigG on Saturday, so I’ve got to
have some kind of interest to still have the will to live
Now to be honest I haven’t a clue about any of the competitors or songs, but I did
have a swatch at Oddschecker to see what the scores on the doors were, and I noticed
that Belguim’s price was in a bit of freefall. You could have got 100/1 with Stan James
or 80/1 with Paddy Power 24 hours ago, the general price was 50/1. As I watched it
started turning blue, 40s and 33s, and Coral suddenly went 18/1, followed by Ladbrokes.
Betfred were the only firm standing 50s, so I managed to get 20 quid on at that. One minute
after I placed the bet, they were 33s. Best priced 28s now and Paddy Power just cut it to
16s. Does someone know something
Maybe this year’s event might be a bit more interesting

May 9, 2017 at 22:23 #1300207Thanks Nathan, I just saw the end of tonight’s heat. Belguim were in it,
I didn’t hear their song, but saw the voting and out of about 26 or so
acts, only 10 were going through. They read them out painstakingly,
draaaagggging it out, and with 9 through there was only 1 chance left. He
took about a minute to say it……BELGIUM!!!. Bloody hell, you’d have
thought I was watching the last furlong in a tight race that went to a
photo. I’ll need to get a grip of myself, it’s the Eurovision Song
Contest for God’s sake
May 10, 2017 at 12:06 #1300240Not had a bet in this but i enjoy watching results of this compettion and like Graham Norton doing commentry on it i do.
I hope our entry do well which is former xfactor star Lucie Jones over the years i swapped quite a few tweets with her she a nice person and hope she do wellMay 13, 2017 at 17:17 #1300740Well this sounds encouraging, for my mad punt on Belguim, in today’s Metro ……
“”Software giants Adobe have been tracking social data and show that, based on over 36 million social media engagements, Belgium should win.
Italy are the bookies’ favourites, Portugal and Bulgaria are expected to challenge the top spot, and the United Kingdom, France, Romania, Sweden and Armenia are all tipped as dark horses. She is currently 4th favourites with
the bookies.”“But two influential data analytics teams are saying it could be Belgium, who are represented by Blanche and the song City Lights. Software giants Adobe have been tracking social data and show that, based on over 36 million social media engagements, Belgium should win.”
They weren’t alone with that view……..
“Streaming service Deezer also points towards a second Eurovision victory for Belgium.”
Belguim top priced 20/1 at the moment. I can’t believe I’m looking forward to the
bloody Eurovision Song Contest
May 13, 2017 at 18:42 #1300747I used to have a go at this each year but I have long given up. I had one exceptional year when I had at least five bets on Iceland and they all won despite someone actually else winning the contest. It is probably lost in the Forum Archive. Another year a couple of winning bets with VC almost certainly lost me my account.
Sadly, these days you may as well watch a couple of hours of X-Factor and I can’t be bothered with that sort of tosh.
Good luck with the bet but as the Belgium chorus is such a rip of Rihanna’s ‘Found Love’ I suspect plenty of questions will be asked if it ends up winning.
