I got the 7/4 on the distance I wasn’t expecting four lengths. He blew the doors off.
I’d say it looked more like three lengths tops but why spoil a great story!?
Pay up bookies you copped a hiding here.

Nice to see a big field in a top G1 (18 runners).

Wonder if the likes of Coolmore will send mares (Galileo mares?) to KITASAN BLACK now. Or EQUINOX himself.

I thought Frankel would be best I’d see , Flightline something else too but god knows what figure that will earn . Unbeatable wherever he goes .

Do we think he’ll run in the Arima Kinen?

I think i heard one comment it was his last race .
I think the Arima Kinen is the one the public vote on the field ,he will get 99.999 per cent votes .
Considering how Japan clean up when travelling horses , and even Europes best 3 year old is by a Japan stallion , their horses that good and he is so far clear of the rest its not funny , its got to be asked is he the best ever ?

Such a pity they didn’t run him in the Arc or Breeders Cup Turf. Would’ve been great to see him taking on Ace Impact or Auguste Rodin. I think he’d have beaten both handily.
What a horse. One of the all time greats for sure but they definitely should’ve tried to win a top European turf race with him.

“… they definitely should’ve tried to win a top European turf race with him.”

Look at the prize money he has won. With the exception of the Arc, European races simply can’t compete.

Equinox has been awarded an RPR of 134. This compares with 129 for Ace Impact and 126 for Auguste Rodin this season.

I have to admit i had him all wrong, written him off in dubai, rightly so at the time as the bias there USUALLY never holds up,

But hes deserving of the rpr glad, hes definitely better than AR and probably AI also IMO, and ye cant blame them for not coming to europe, pennies instead of pounds

Enjoyed watching the race this morning

Such a strange race to watch – a big field (how refreshing was it to see that in a G1) yet virtually nothing else that wasn’t handy got into the race…..not that you could call it much of a race with the distain that Equinox treated them all with.

He is a very special horse that was (in hindsight) incorrectly underrated on his Dubai run, I think most thought it was a very good performance visually but that he was still only beating Westover and Mostahdaf (who at the time were decent but exposed at G1 level). With what those two went on to do this season and with Equinox’s continued brilliance in Japan I think has most realising now just how good the Dubai run truly was.

His preference for fast ground always made it highly unlikely that a trip to Europe was ever going to be on the agenda not withstanding the vast difference in prize money, finishing 5th in the Japan Cup nets you £314k alone (finishing 5th in the Arc gets you £126k) and his combined winnings from his last three runs amount to around £6m! Then add in a little European bias on ratings and arguably his final rating might still be underplaying just how good he was.
